   The staff were amazing and food was great. We were there with a group of about 30 including 4 kids (one a young toddler). I did want to note we had a horrible encounter with another dinner who was extremely rude and made facials at us all night (making rude comments about the children who we were doing our best to entertain). We as care givers were hands on trying our best to keep kids entertained but as most reasonable people understand kids will be kids. The staff were so lovely and assured us kids were welcome and were so helpful. The venue was very large so lots of space and it was just us and the other group- I would highly recommend for large bookings. Food came out quickly and the customer service was great. Thank you team!

   Lovely food and Great staff. Last night a huge family were also dining with the Very Wirst children Ever in the resturant!!!! They ran sound, shouted and screamed, and were totally ignored by the adults. This ruined the entire evening for our table, but no attempts were made to suggest in an Adult public resturant, this behaviour is appalling!!!

   Great place for groups as there’s heaps of space, we wend down as a group of 20 and they arranged two big tables quick for us. The service was fast and the pizzas were nice. There is a gaming room (you are in the racetrack bar after all) but it was peaceful during the week and we enjoyed ourselves.

   What incredible service and very affordable prices. Friends and I popped by the Alex after being recommended it by others as a bit of a hidden gem. The service by the Indian gentleman behind the counter made us feel like nothing was an issue. We will certainly become regulars.

   August 2023 We returned as part of group of 14 people for dinner. Having booked in well ahead of our dinner. The tables were all set for dinner and reserved. The staff provided excellent service and the food was very nice. We are already planning a lunch function to be held in 3 months time. I would certainly recommend the Alex Bar & Eatery for an informal lunch or a planned dinner. It has been two years since the last time we dined here. The service remains at the excellent level it was before Covid-19. Previous occasions were for dinner and this time we decided to treat ourselves to lunch and meetup with friends. The food we chose as per the menu was excellent. The cafe selection of food was very appealing too. We will return sometime in the future to enjoy the food along our friends and a great atmosphere. Subsequent to our most recent lunch visit we have chosen tha Alex Bar & Eatery to be the next venue for Lunch for a big group of former College Friends. This will happen in the next 6 weeks.

   Good place to have a beer and hang out. Slightly on the expensive side. They do have TAB and Gaming machines so if you're bothered by that, not the place for you. Well maintained though. I would go back again.

   Amazing experience in the restaurant. So sweet of Arian to take care of my clients during my visit today. One of the most important thing for a person like me to have my guests treated well. With so many staff shortages across the country, Alex Cafe is doing great. Thank you Arian and the team. Good parking, good food and nice people, and I will definitely come back with my friends and clients.

   We love this Cafe for its casual easy atmosphere and spaciousness overlooking the racecourse. There always seems to be free parking available too. The staff are friendly and there's a great array of food: from fresh counter food, sandwiches, pies, salads, quiche to amazing looking burgers, toasties, and yum hot chips. It has changed hands over the years, and the current owners deserve to succeed with all that they're offering. Today we were looked after by a lovely member of staff Tina, who went out of her way to organise that the kitchen make us some lush ham and salad club sandwiches. Enjoyed a beer with our lunch as well.
