Haven’t been here for years & the place looks great, but the food needs more & more favours. The service is great and some orders , we couldn’t get because they ran out.. Need to do better..
What a waste of good money this place is. I came with a group of friends for the quiz and not one of us enjoyed the food. We ordered at 6:50 before the quiz started. At 7:30 when I went to ask for my food, they said they had lost the docket and said it would be 10 mins. No apology nothing. At 7:50 I had to go to the counter and then saw the food sitting there and had to grab it myself. Instead of an apology, I get this young staff member come and tell me off for expecting my food on time. Saying they are trying hard and that I should not be expecting service. The audacity! The table was gob smacked! Ths is the state of our entitled young kids! The place was only 40% full and I wonder what this place will be like at 100%. About the food, after more than an hour of waiting, the kumara chips were undercooked and we had to leave them. I asked for some sauce and was told it's an extra $3! I told the same staff member that even after this he would charge $3 and he said yes! The pork bao had no pork, just fat. The Caesar salad looked like it had Heinz mayo and the fish tacos were barely passable. Won't be back and definitely do no recommend this place. Total waste of hRd earned money. PS: No one came to clear the table even though we were there till 9 pm which is closing time on a Tuesday.
Staff were friendly, venue is nice and big and good outdoor area. Food was just okay - nothing outstanding. Mocktails weee good and so was the coffee

Valentine’s at Woodside – Beautiful Food, But the Wait Was a Heartbreaker We booked Woodside for Valentine’s Day, hoping for a special night out—and to be fair, when we arrived at 7pm, things looked promising and with their Live Music. The upstairs area was beautifully set up, the atmosphere was romantic, and the table settings were on point with their welcoming bubbles. But then… the wait began. We placed our order shortly after arriving, and waited. And waited. Our mains didn’t arrive until 8:56pm – nearly two hours later. On Valentine’s Day? Seriously? At that point, we were starving. Was the food worth the wait? Honestly… it was yum, no doubt. The pork ribs were tender and tasty, the steak with mushroom sauce was well-cooked, and the sides of chips, salad, and onion rings were all fresh and flavorful. But was it worth waiting that long? Sadly, no. Then came dessert—and yep, another hour-long wait. That was the final straw for me. By then, all I wanted was to eat, pay, and go home. So while the food was beautiful, the timing ruined the experience. Woodside for Valentine’s? Never again. If you’re just in for a meal and not on a schedule, maybe you’ll have a better time. But for us, it was a one-time thing.
Their large plates are just that, large plates with stuff all on them for prices that indicate you should be getting much more. The food was actually nice when it arrived but tiny portions. Atmosphere was rubbish as the mediocre band was way to loud to hear anyone. The staff were inattentive and stuffed up the orders. Overall, very overpriced and poorly managed.
A spectacular ambience with a flare of Pasifika flava...with music and food. Live music and great quick services. My Seafood chowder and pudding was spectacular!
My family and I booked a table for 5 and in the end added more. Woodside was very accomodating and we had to move areas but were very grateful. A lot of the table ordered the seafood chowder. It was fresh and all but coming from a very island/Māori family would have done it better (4/5). I had a steak and love it as dear as you can get and was very happy with it because most of the time restaurants over cook my steak but the chef did mine perfectly (5/5). The only photos I got were of our deserts and they were ok. It’s obvious that the chef is either islander or Samoan cause we got panikeke and vaisalo(faipula) can’t remember the actual word. But these were average in taste. I have been to Samoa and lived there for a little while and I can tell you a 2tala version of this is 99% better than the version on offer here. I understand it was a fancier version but it just didn’t do it for me. I love the idea but the execution needs more work. The menu is not really catered to kids so I wouldn’t recommend taking kids here if your kids are simple like mind was. Overall I would come here again but will go somewhere else for desert. Loved the live entertainment he was an awesome singer as well. Thank you for your customer service which was 5/5.
Had drinks n food there at Happy hour. Shared big platters of chicken, spare ribs, savouries etc. Very filling. Very friendly, attentive, welcoming staff and Manager! Will go back there again! Thankyou Woodside Bar!
Had a birthday lunch . Food was good. Customer service was poor, we asked if the sky sports error could be removed and was told will sort it shortly. . After lunch was waiting at the table, waiting for the waitress to come see us to order dessert .However, after 25 minutes and empty plates/glasses, we gave up waiting. Error code wasn't removed...
