   Place appeared busy which was a good sign however it became evident it was only busy because the food and service was so slow. Over an hour for our food which was below average. Over done chips, Thai salad dry and tasteless. Had to cancel rest of food as it was going to be longer. Place is run down unkept gardens outside. Better off waiting for Hill House down the road

   We stopped here while driving from Auckland through Clevedon. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so we expected a quick lunch. There’s a sign saying “wait to be seated”, but the waitress just handed us menus and told us to sit anywhere, which already felt disorganised. We ordered two mains and soft drinks. The drinks arrived in about ten minutes, but after waiting another forty minutes with no food, we asked for an update. The manager said she’d check, but no one came back to us. After more than an hour we decided to cancel. Only then the manager admitted the wait was over an hour and that the waitress should have told us. The prices are high and the service is mediocre. If they can’t handle even a half-empty restaurant, they should rethink how they operate. Definitely not worth stopping for.

   Omg the seafood chowder was the best we’ve ever had!! Delicious!! Big meals and all great. I got the chicken salad - lots to it and lots of meat. We also got the beef burger. That had a massive home made patty on it. Yum! Chips were crispy and so good too. The guy serving us was really cool too. We’ll be back!!

   The Corner is the Local for me! Always find great service and great food. Sometimes Skeptical of a loaded fries but this one did not disappoint! Definitely recommend :)

1. Good eats 2021 ★★☆☆☆

   Strange experience really. First waitress who welcomed us was lovely, however she went on break The girl who served us after was just somewhat uninterested and almost snobby. We ordered a lamb dish and fish and chips, my mates lamb dish was amazing but the fish and chips were well below average, terrible batter and the chips were defiantly left overs or re-fries as pictured. Not worth $27 at all. When paying the waitress did ask how the food was, explained above - however it felt as if it was just a formality to ask. Won’t be hurrying back. Water not topped off or re-attended to. Below average service all round.

   My friend and I went here for breakfast. We were greeted with a smile by a lovely young man, I think he was the manager. It was such a pleasant experience. I had the herbed mushroom breakfast and it was a 10/10! Great hospitality, food and service. Can’t wait to return. Thank you!

   We waited for quite some time but the food were incredibly delicious. Very flavorful and quite big portions. We were so full at the end. Definitely going back to try out the other dishes! :) Feb 2021 update: Menu has changed since the last time I was there but food was still incredible!!
