“THIS PLACE! I flew in on Auckland and by accident stumbled on this little gem. I never had carrot cake... Needless to say it was DELICIOUS. Homemade, owner bakes it himself. The atmosphere is also wonderfull. I went around NZ after this first cake... Never had the same taste in my mouth again! Until I visited back when I had to leave NZ... Each bite is perfect! Staff is soo friendly and genuine trying to build something nice up. It's a pity a lot of old reviews are bringing this score down (it was the previous owner), because it deserves a freaking big score ❤️ It is a small caffee, so expect when it's busy some waiting time to get in.”

“Very friendly staff, we walked in last minute and they were all super excited to extend their day a little to provide a great experience. Great espresso and we had the best pour over. Originally we went here to stock up on a few coffee supplies and they had a great selection of coffee brewing gear! 5 stars for sure and a great environment!”

“I stopped by this cafe and ordered the chicken burger along with a hot chocolate, and both were excellent! The burger was fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked - really hearty without being too heavy. The service was warm and friendly, and the overall atmosphere made it a really enjoyable visit. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and recommend to others!”

Came in Thurs 10th July midday for some takeaway lunch & coffee , staff ( 2 x young women ) were friendly & made The Best Flat White ! Had a sausage roll which was Excellent and could tell was made in house Definitely stopping in more I’m an ex barista (15yrs experience) and generally have high expectations but mostly receive below average coffee So it was awesome to receive an amazing Flat White from the Barista at Karaka General Store & Cafe Thanks so much”

“I visited this cafe with my daughter today.I ordered Flat White and Egg and Bacon muffin. Coffee is good but no good art. Food is not special, just ok. Place is enough to serve group. Interior is good. Cleanness is quite good. Service is very fast and good. Staffs are kind. Recommend for morning tea and coffee break.”

“We had brunch on Waitangi Day (Thursday) and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that! We went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.”

“This cafe was recommended to us by a family member for superb salmon bagels. Boy were we not disappointed. I prefer cooked salmon and nothing was too much bother to lightly grill the smoked salmon. It was amazing and very generous. All our table loved everything they had, fettuccine, blat, gf french toast and two salmon bagels. We loved to cafe, friendly, wonderful ambience. “Eaten brunch here a couple of times. Eggs bene and avo on toast. Good both times. Has become a regular stop for a coffee and cake after a dog walk. There are 2 doors, so ordering and counter food is done in the back corner. You can then walk outside to the diner and take a seat. Makes for a nice quiet area to chat while waiting for food as no coffee machine working! Dog friendly and outside seating area for firry friends.”
