“What a hidden gem! Absolutely love this café — the service is warm and attentive, and everything I tried was spot on. The pastries are fresh and delicious, the salads are vibrant and full of flavor, and the coffee? Perfectly brewed. There’s such a great variety on the menu — something for every mood. Definitely one of my favorite spots in town now. Highly recommend!”

“Had a delicious breakfast here yesterday! I am fairly boring, I always get the eggs on toast. The had a big beautiful menu of loads of different things, as well as cabinet food. The staff were super friendly and welcoming I could see they are a local favorite. Great outdoor street seating as well as loads inside. “Great stop for delicious breakfast and coffee - we both had the $15 mini “big” breakfast, which was not mini by any stretch of the imagination. It came with an egg, a thick slice of toast, two hash brown triangles, a slice of bacon, a sausage and a roasted tomato. The poached eggs were done perfectly and everything else was hot with crispy hash browns. Hard to beat that deal!The flat white and latte were also good. Friendly, prompt service. We sat outside under cover in a nice space, even though it was raining. Other food looked good also.”

“I stopped by this cafe and ordered the chicken burger along with a hot chocolate, and both were excellent! The burger was fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked - really hearty without being too heavy. The service was warm and friendly, and the overall atmosphere made it a really enjoyable visit. “Really lovely bakehouse. The energy there is just awesome. Buzzing with friendly people. We started conversations with people at 4 different tables. Had lots of laughs. Hubby and me never had an experience like that in cafe before. Food was really good. Priced well for the quality and size. Not fancy foods but more like home cooked foods and even do we are foodies we still enjoyed it and went back next day and grabbed sandwich and sausage roll. Sorry no photos of those as we finished it in a hurry but sandwich was packed with tasty filling and hubby said the sausage roll was the best he ever had. So there you go. If you not sure what to try definitely grab sausage roll. Coffee was excellent. Large size came in decent large mug and was hot and delicious.”

“Such a lovely spot! I came in to have lunch and get a bit of work done, and I ended up staying longer than planned because I felt so good there. The staff were absolutely adorable, the tea was delicious, and there were plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options. My meal was rich and comforting, and the tart for dessert was amazing, a bit much for just me, but can’t complain about that. I’ll definitely be back, either by myself or with friends! ✨”

“After a refurbishment and challenging times due to never ending road works, Ambler reopened recently, much to the delight of the neighbourhood. Dishes have never disappointed whenever we’ve been, and we’ve gone through the whole menu, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chefs know their flavours, cook time and combinations. Yum, yum, and yum!”

“Best place for breakfast outside of the cbd. Very well prepared and painstakingly detailed presentation of delicious breakfast items. A wide range to choose from. Very reasonably priced. Fantastic service and very warm, friendly staff. Pet friendly outside seating available. Clean toilets. Quite a well lit corner, tucked away in one of Auckland's oldest suburbs. Definitely recommended over any other eating establishment in Mt Albert!”

“Absolutely loved our brunch at Willow Cafe. The service was warm, the atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the food was just exceptional. I ordered the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and wow, it was perfect. The eggs were poached beautifully, the hollandaise was smooth and rich, and the salmon was fresh and balanced the dish so well. Everything was plated with care and looked as good as it tasted. You can tell there’s a lot of love and skill behind the food here. Definitely one of the best brunch spots around highly recommend and will be back for sure!”

Awesome vegan and vege options and offer a discount if you bring your own cup for takeaways. Decor was slightly aged and could do with a bit of a tickle up but had a nice homely feel and staff were friendly. Will definitely be back.”
