“Fantastic little cafe with delicious cabinet and menu options! Tried the matcha strawberry latte, early grey basque cheesecake, and the HK French toast. All were delicious and drool worthy. They look AND taste amazing (which can be hard to find). Really want to go again to try more of their menu! The staff and owners are very warm, welcoming, friendly and cheerful. There were so many locals that swung by for their usual orders and the team were tuned in. Knew the regular orders, continued conversations from when they last saw them, so just some really genuine people. Also dog friendly, which is my personal favourite point!”

“Decent brunch place, interesting location with somewhat difficulty in parking. Clean atmosphere and a nice array of fusion brunch menu. Nice sushi, enjoyed the dish, anything including Asian twist on traditional brunch menu is always up my alley!”

“The real thing! Davenport deli cafe is unpretentious but feels like an old Europe cafe. The coffee (latte in a glass) was exquisite and the blueberry cheese cake one of the best I've had - Vienna move over! The setting across from the art deco Devonia bldg with a choice of sidewalk or breezy inside seating adds to the experience. Head for the cafe as soon as you get off the ferry; a three minute walk. Oh I also picked up a frittata to take away - two kinds available: ham or veggie great value or try the quiche: spinach + feta or bacon and egg.”

“This place just re-opened last week. Their bruch options are classic and delicious. They do a very good coffee! Would recommend the Rosti Benedict with hot smoked salmon! All their pastries and cakes are fresh and made in house too. Location is beautiful, you can half a walk along the beach after your meal! The new owners are lovely and very friendly!”

“This little local is a hidden gem and the menu (new) is what prompted me to leave his review. New offerings which imply Grandy’s is customer first and they revel in seeing joy and engagement from their customers. The 2 new offerings that I tried were the Creamy Miso Udon and Chicken Katsu Sando and they were both full of flavour and taste. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed. Support local, especially such a precious treasure. Keep it up and many thanks to Grandy’s and Team for such great hospitality and dedication.”

“The food is great and the service is so quick and friendly. Love the lamb here. Lunch specials are a great value for money. It’s highly consistent and the portion size is decent. It can get very busy during peak lunch hours so best to make a booking especially for a larger group. Highly recommended !”

“Had one of their award winning Steak n Cheese pies. It was everything you'd want from a pie - flakey pastry on top, soft on bottom, delicious flavours, tender steak, golden on top. Not the cheapest at $7 but definitely worththe stop if you're after a good pie.”

“I love the bears, food and drinks It’s a really cute place :) Here my brother had the big breakfast and he loved it! I drank my coffee too quickly to take a pic but it was really good! “Really lovely bakehouse. The energy there is just awesome. Buzzing with friendly people. We started conversations with people at 4 different tables. Had lots of laughs. Hubby and me never had an experience like that in cafe before. Food was really good. Priced well for the quality and size. Not fancy foods but more like home cooked foods and even do we are foodies we still enjoyed it and went back next day and grabbed sandwich and sausage roll. Sorry no photos of those as we finished it in a hurry but sandwich was packed with tasty filling and hubby said the sausage roll was the best he ever had. So there you go. If you not sure what to try definitely grab sausage roll. Coffee was excellent. Large size came in decent large mug and was hot and delicious.”

“I'd like to express my gratitude to have such a nice cafe out there. Definitely warm and welcoming atmosphere. The value for the money is unbeatable, considering how prices have raised in the sorounding areas. I've started having medium flat whites and the size is big, price is great. Today I've eaten a nice toast with 3 ingredients of my choice and it was well made. Please note that the approach is a homemade dish, which is great. I don't tend to go to places to see MasterChef decorations to justify high prices. What I do care is flavour, quality of food and service, not to mention the price. So this is the place to go for me and I've become a regular. I'm quite surprised that this place isn't packed, but hopefully you read this and support this business.”

“Popped in for dinner after the Allblacks game and were rewarded with exceptional service and a wonderful meal. I love to slow cook so I ordered the beef cheek , WOW… I was not disappointed it was beautifully cooked and the flavours were wonderful. There is a big screen here which has me thinking I may book dinner for the next game. Looking forward to returning and sampling some more things on the menu. Highly recommend!”

“Such a lovely spot! I came in to have lunch and get a bit of work done, and I ended up staying longer than planned because I felt so good there. The staff were absolutely adorable, the tea was delicious, and there were plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options. My meal was rich and comforting, and the tart for dessert was amazing, a bit much for just me, but can’t complain about that. I’ll definitely be back, either by myself or with friends! ✨”

“Lovely little shisha lounge to chill after a long day, the 2 owners are very kind and have top notch service every time I’ve come here with my workmates, I always get the BBQ chicken pizza everytime im here, so good and always fresh Good to see a place owned by local Westies, they know their customers very well, good RnB music going most nights too, hard to find shisha places which aren’t overly crowded and loud! Place is nice and cosy and shisha is never harsh like other spots”

“After a refurbishment and challenging times due to never ending road works, Ambler reopened recently, much to the delight of the neighbourhood. Dishes have never disappointed whenever we’ve been, and we’ve gone through the whole menu, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chefs know their flavours, cook time and combinations. Yum, yum, and yum!”

“Just popped in for coffee. Guy didn't listen to me as I ordered a mocha and ended up with a caramel mocha. Coffee was still good and well presented. The music could have been a better choice for the space. I felt like Barry white was going come out and caress me. Actually that wouldn't be so bad.”
