First time coming to this cafe thinking it is a French cafe but it wasn’t. The coffee was very average with lots of milk and not much coffee in it which is sad. They do breakfast combo such as fried egg and toast with coffee with $18 which is okay I guess.

A quirky little cafe very close to the Howick Village Market. When the market is going on, it'd be pretty difficult to find parking just outside the cafe. I liked the decor in the cafe, it felt quite vintage. The lady who took our order was slightly pushy, reminded me of an impatient Asian aunt hurrying us on what to eat. The man who served us, however, was all smiles and very friendly. The food price was average, but the portions were on the smaller side, especially the eggs benedict. The taste was pretty standard, too. The potato and leek soup was nice, very creamy and rich. The pear and passion fruit tart also stood out to me, the jelly part was firmer than I expected, but in a good way. It also wasn't overly sweet. Overall an ok experience. There are more options around that I'd try out.

Delicious Morrocan Eggplant with lamb mince, just the right amount of spice. The Iced Chai was equally as good, and the owner was greeted by name by people passing by as he bought us out our food. Clearly a popular man! Great place

So disappointed for four reasons, two of which are dodgy practice, imo. 1 : Portion size is misleading: I ordered a takeaway salmon quiche which was rectangular in the cabinet but triangular, cut in half that is, in the box. For $16.90 the rectangle was a fair price. For $16.90 the triangle was very expensive 2: Salad was added in a plastic container. Tiny portion and a weird combo of four potatoes, spoonful of pasta, cut lettuce. Kind of icky. 3: Salmon quiche for $16.90 should have a fair amount of salmon. This one had lots of pumpkin, watery eggy bits and a few tiny flakes of salmon. 4: Overcharging. A sign says .27 will be added to tap transactions. Fine. But my price was almost $17.50. She dropped it to $17.36 when challenged. Someone else took over as I explained the math was incorrect. He said it was not their charge. Huh? So what’s the .27 for and why aren’t your posting it as a .46 service charge. He said he’d tell the company. Pft.

I've never ordered an Eggs Benedict and had it arrive "well done" before, in fact, I had no idea it was even a thing!.... also, never had Bene with layers of Avocado covering it...so personally, I have one word to describe it..... Don't!. Coffee here is quite good and was the only saving grace of my experience, that and the atmosphere is French café.

Nice table out on the street watching the comings and goings in howick village, inside looked nice with plenty to look at on the walls, had a good vibe. Chose from the cabinet as the range was good with a specialty in individual bakes and pot pies, chose the Moroccan lamb pot pie and a bean baked cheesecake. I asked if the pot pie came with salad and they said it did, was expecting something simple but they gave me a good spoonful of the 3 salads they had, a lemon macaroni which was absolutely delicious and a highlight, and cos lettuce with light vinaigrette and roast vege salad, both good, the pot pie flavor was rich and delicious plenty of filling and not too much sauce, the perfect ratio. The cheesecake was light and not too sweet and blended perfectly with the berry compote, best cheesecake I've had in quite a while. Coffee was above average. Very good price too. Very highly recommended.
