“Had the wonton soup and noodles. Wontons were made from decent sized prawns and lean pork meat with hardly any fatty bits that you see in some other places. Owners are so friendly and genuine. You can see many regulars popping in and being cheerfully greeted. While I didn't eat the sandwiches, I will next time round as they looked substantial with a ton of filling and well priced, too. Will definitely return.”

“Nice unassuming cafe in the middle of Manurewa. Friendly staff, coffee was good, had eggs bene which was good. Tidy and a good feel. Counter food and standard menu items available. Playing the Breeze which is nice soft background music. Overall they've got it right in my opinion. Would recommend, and happily return”

“My family and I were in Strangers Cafe on Monday after lunch to get ourselves some coffee and hot soy milk. It's our first time there. We liked the vibe of the cafe but what I loved the most was the service. The lady that was over the counter is very lovely and accommodating. I liked her authentic smile while talking to us. She actually made our day, specifically my son's special request of having additional marshmallows on his soy milk. This may sound simple but the kindness she showed is well appreciated. If she only knew that we just came out from a major car accident earlier and we were still rattled during that time. Even a simple act of kindness goes a long way. Thank you to that young lady, your deserve a shoutout as your service was superb!”

“Got the Beam Chicken Benedict. It was a great portion size (not too much, not too little)! The chicken was tender and moist, eggs poached perfectly and the spring onion pancake was a tasty refreshing twist on the typical eggs benny! Coffee was great too. Service was warm, friendly, inviting and prompt. Highly recommend!”

“Ordered the Great Big Breakfast for brunch today. Definitely hit the spot, satisfying my hunger pains after a big gym session. Scrambled eggs (extra eggs) cooked to perfection. Breakfast sausage full of flavor, hash brown golden and crunchy. Bacon cooked just right. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The Cafe had a nice warm and homely vibe. Definitely recommend this place if your looking for somewhere nice to eat.”

“A gem of a place, super delicious coffee and incredible cakes and pastries, we wanted to try everything and got a few different bits but the caramel, pear and walnut tart was a definite stand out. “I recently visited Neil Cafe and bar and was truly impressed by the outstanding quality of my meal also a very reasonable price especially considering the quality of the ingredients. I had a slow cooked pork belly on mash with fresh salad. The meal was very generous in size and I was sorry when I had finished despite being unable to eat anything else cos I was very full! Seriously it's my favorite place to eat now.”

The atmosphere, service, food quality and cost was excellent and I will be sure at the very least to be getting my hot chocolate from there on a regular basis. “I visited this fine wee establishment today while out riding my motorbike from Cambridge to Auckland and back. What can I say... the staff were so friendly and accommodating. As I'm on a rather strict diet, I didn't eat anything, but the cabinet food and food service looked so appetising and yum. The service, well the owner should be very proud of his staff, they work with purpose and a smile... loved it!! And the atmosphere was quaint rustic charm, spot on!! Not only highly recommended, but definitely a must visit again.”
