“Really delivered with this 2001 IMAX experience. On the bigger side of imax screens and even tho it's only 4k the clarity was still really good (If your wondering how large placing your phone to your nose is about how big it is) Sound setup was truly amazing too as well as the seating, pay that extra for the reclining bring in a blanket and I'd pass out on those chairs. And portions here are crazy jumbo drink is 1L and the popcorn is like a 3-4L bucket completely filled got through like a quarter. If anyone is thinking about outside food, they aren't that strict about it here which is something I like I've never had issues bringing in some whittakers, box of magnums etc. as long as the packaging isn't loud and you buy at least something at the bar they are pretty chill.”
“If you get the chance to visit, it is well worth it. The vegetarian roast was so good! Everything was cooked to perfection and the presentation on the desserts was really great! The staff were really friendly and the service was fast! The decor was beautiful too!”
“My friend wanted to try Concord out and having perused the menu online (who doesn’t) I was in like Flynn. We shared the pate entree that was delish. The only negative was the chargrilled toast tasted burnt. But the pate was sublime. My friend had the steak sandwich “rocking” was her review. I had the fish. This was outstanding. Cooked to perfection, a flavourful delicate butter sauce and fresh, Al dente asparagus. The best. The ambience was awesome and the service was great. Didn’t get the server’s name but she was a delight. Highly recommend.”
“We saw Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. ( 23/4/24 ) And was thoroughly entertained. What a fantastic performance and show! Really fun, a big party onstage. The music was amazing & voices incredible!! The pianist on stage was so clever, playing, conducting, and interacting with the actors too. I enjoyed this so so much and would encourage everyone to go see this really professional, fun modern musical while they have the chance. The theatre is gorgeous and intimate, but with plenty of space. The stage was very easy to see and nice and close. The staff were lovely. I loved everything about it. Thanks for a great night's entertainment, Hannah Theatre, the cast, musicians and everyone behind the scenes of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812!!!”
“Had Antenatal classes here recently. The place had a nice vibe. Think there was some yoga going on at the same time and dancing too.”
“Very fun. Bridie Gray and her helpful assistance really equipped me with the fundamental acting skills I use to this day. Highly recommend especially if ur close and live near the karori area”
“Frankenstein... an amazing performance tonight. Congratulations to you all. A huge performance in a tiny venue”
“Loved it! My uncle had his birthday celebration here. He ordered in pizza and ice cream which we enjoyed while milling around the cinema, before watching a movie. There are heaps of cool things to look at and read. The cinema is a great size for a small-ish group. We loved it”
“Impressive welcoming and so nice to work in loved it!”
“Awesome singing, acting and production.”
“This is my favourite place ever. Nice place do study music over here .”
“We had a great time over here while conducting a seminar on safe rigging practice.”
“My wife and I have veen to at least five productions so far.. Real people sing and act before you and, when you're lucky, there's the occasional interactive element. Great scripts, lighting and sound, but above all, it's the locals who pour their heart and soul into it. They enjoy themselves and so do we. Switch your TV off and experience the extra dimension only live theatre can offer.”
“What a hidden little gem. Friends and I go to a show a month, usually a musical. And we went to Mana little theatre for the first time last night. Was an intimate and well resourced little theatre. The seats are terribly uncomfortable due to their recline though so suggest taking a cushion if you struggle with back pain. Also recommend wearing layers. It was unbearably warm with thermals on! A couple of star actors there too who are destined for big things. The standard of direction was excellent.”
“Good mid sized venue for around 300 people”
“Wonderful morning at the RNZB...thank you so much to all!!!!”
“We haven’t laughed as much in ages. The show was so well done - congratulations to everyone who was involved in putting it on - you were great!”
“Few cities are fortunate enough to have a theatre and company of this high calibre. Constellations is a superbly crafted piece of theatre demanding the very finest of acting skills and Hutt Reps production delivered in spades. Renowned for its wonderful sets dedication to craft and authenticity the theatre’s recent enhancements with new seating and lighting rig add to what is already a high bar. Beautifully directed with great thought given to the demands on the actors in this two hander. Transitions were completely seamless and flowed naturally from one scene to the next. The real star of this show was the superb sound and light design. With bone rattling accuracy we were moved in our seats by the use of some rather large, I believe 18” sub woofers secreted beneath the audience dais. The teamwork required to create such a slick production through movement, dialogue, sound and lighting was outrageously good.”
“Absolutely fabulous. Went to Le Mis last night, what a great production. I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
“A very active tramping club with interesting weekly talks each Tuesday and a diverse range of activities”
“A hidden gem right in the heart of the city. You’ll miss it easily as it sits on the 1st floor and only noticeable from the menu and sign board which leads you up a flight of stairs. This place has been around for such a long time and it used to be a haunt with my mates during our uni days which was a couple of decades ago! A great selection of food and they don’t disappoint. What I’m impressed is that the consistency is still the same from day 1 and portion sizing is generous. They have a toilet available but you’ll need a key behind the counter and it comes with a super large keychain! Since nothing much has changed, the place is slightly run down and would definitely benefit from a little makeover.”
“Salmon was delicious and came out super fast. Very friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating options with a gorgeous views!”
“A good venue! I used to rehearse there most weeks, and had a couple performances there. Sound is good, has a good amount of seating and backstage has everything you'd expect. Good for lectures too from what I remember from my Freshman year.”
“Stunning with super helpful lovely staff.”
“The Community Centre is a very well run central hub for the Kilbirnie area. It has a Kaibosh Food Bank once a week providing vital sustenance for the less well off. It has many organised activities for all ages during the week and the afternoon I was there, they had a well attended group in the hall enjoying a singalong. The manager told me they also show movies once a week. The Citizens Advice Bureau is located in the building, and their office is open in the mornings with friendly staff available to help anyone with issues they may have.”
“Went here for the first time to see Wake Up Dead Man and it was a very nice experience. Although the layout made it feel a bit like a bingo parlour upon first entry, the amount of people gathered here gave the venue a much livelier feel than other local theatres, and the screens and audio quality were top notch. It had more of a community vibe than I was expecting and I think we’ll frequent this cinema more often than not in the future.”
“Cool old venue, where any seat seems to be a great seat due to proximity to the stage. The dress circle first and second row are great seats! The seats are old school and a bit narrow, with just enough leg room. Really good venue for comedy shows!”
“We stumbled upon a cool little bar slightly off Courtenay Place in Wellington and ended up having such a fun night. We were drawn in because we heard some really good filler songs playing—these were the tracks they had on between the karaoke performances. We went in around 9 o’clock when karaoke was already going, and within an hour or two the place really came to life. It was such an amazing vibe with great music, a fun crowd, and plenty of energy. Definitely a memorable night out that happened by chance and turned into something awesome.”
“My family and I just spent 3 nights here and had a lovely stay. The rooms are excellent and the staff at the dinning room are very thoughtful and caring. A special thanks to Inder who helped my wife and I set up dinning for two young children every morning. I would definitely stay here again.”
“Recently went in for burger Wellington, my wife had the burger and said it was great, I had the pie what can say about the pie it was amazing could not have been happier with the dish”
