“An excellent introduction to the seemingly daunting world of sailing. This course doesn't leave you stuck in the classroom all day, watching videos and looking at slideshows! The vast majority of the course is spent out on Wellington Harbour, learning through hands-on interaction with the boats. Yes, it can be a little bit full-on at times and some parts of my body hurt that I didn't know existed, but ultimately it is a rewarding and unique opportunity to gain essential skills in a fascinating sport and leisure activity.”

“After several years of training at the Wing Tsun Academy I can vouch for it being a friendly, embracing gwun - with a solid community of people from all walks of life. WTA takes kung fu seriously and doesn't cut corners; the Sifu's are uncompromising in their desire to create good martial artists and teach the Wing Tsun system. The Academy combines elements of traditional Shaolin kung fu with an emphasis on fitness, focus, confidence, and effective (non-trivial) martial arts application. I have enjoyed my time there very much and look forwards to many more years of training.”

Both boys enjoy being there. Lots of fun activities, burning off all the boredom with much to do there. My boys have ADHD and very much on the go 24/7, Pridelands have been wonderful with them. I’ve recently earned my cert as an open water scuba diver on the 18th March 2025 & this has been one of my favourite learning experiences hands down. The team at Dive Wellington are not only dedicated & passionate, they have a great wealth of knowledge & experience they’re keen to share with others! Depending on your preference in learning, whether it be in a group, with a friend or one on one, each learner can be accommodated. “The Island Bay Marine Education Centre, also known as "The Bait House", is an interactive marine experience based in Island Bay on Wellington's south coast. As well as there being lots of different sea creatures on display (including a couple of octupuses, sea horses, crayfish, turtles, a grumpy blue cod to name a few) you can also handle starfish, sea cucumbers, sea anemones, crabs and other sea life found un the touch pools. There is far more inside than you would expect from the outside and the volunteers whi wirk there are very friendly and helpful. It is really reasonably priced ($5 for adults, $2 per child) and we were all entertained for ages. Really good fun and educational too. Definitely worth checking out with the family.”
