Instructor's are fantastic, super friendly members , I had some hesitation due to a old back injury, but they have been very good at working with me around it , my mobility has improved substantially and now see a long future in hapkido as the club has become a second family both inside and outside of the club.

If you are looking for a place to bring the family to give them the essential martial arts and self-defence skills then look no further. I have been a member myself for almost a decade now, and my all of kids have benefitted as well. Master Callum has built an outstanding school with so much to offer - whether that is traditional hapkido, weapons, ground skills, sparring and self-defence. I have learned so much and still have so much to look forward to in my journey here. The community is so supportive. We've all gained confidence, resilience, and valuable self-defence skills. Highly recommend for both kids and adults, men and women. Come give martial arts a try, you'll be better for it.
My 8-year-old has been attending classes here for three years, and the progress is amazing. The instructors are fantastic with kids, teaching skills, agility, and self-defense in a way that builds confidence and discipline. They also make sure children understand when it’s appropriate to use these techniques. The mindset taught in this program helps in so many areas. I highly recommend it!
A great martial arts school with very able and knowledgable instructors, they know what they teach well and have a definite passion for the art. I’ve found the atmosphere to be very professional, while at the same time being relaxed, friendly, welcoming and very inclusive. Having studied various martial arts over the years I’ve found it’s quite difficult to find a school that ticks of of those boxes but Callum and his team of instructors at Upper Hutt Martial Arts Academy do it very well.
I take my Grandson to Upper Hutt Martial Arts. He loves it, I have noticed his increase in confidence since he started. The club is professionally run and Master Callum is a positive instructor. There is alot of resources and the children love going. Always recommend it to anyone that asks.

Excellent, Callum is fantastic, he runs the academy with a relaxed but very professional feel. My kids love it. I love the confidence they get from the training sessions. They have lots of equipment to simulate all sorts of situations
I joined this academy 7 months ago now and loved every minute of it. It is suitable for all ages. The instructors are great always aiming to make you the best you can be and encouraging you. I can see myself here for years to come.
