“A hidden gem right in the heart of the city. You’ll miss it easily as it sits on the 1st floor and only noticeable from the menu and sign board which leads you up a flight of stairs. This place has been around for such a long time and it used to be a haunt with my mates during our uni days which was a couple of decades ago! A great selection of food and they don’t disappoint. What I’m impressed is that the consistency is still the same from day 1 and portion sizing is generous. They have a toilet available but you’ll need a key behind the counter and it comes with a super large keychain! Since nothing much has changed, the place is slightly run down and would definitely benefit from a little makeover.”
“Cool old venue, where any seat seems to be a great seat due to proximity to the stage. The dress circle first and second row are great seats! The seats are old school and a bit narrow, with just enough leg room. Really good venue for comedy shows!”
“While Katherine Mansfield did not live in this particular house for very long, the house is filled with lots of memorbillia and exhibits an extensive timeline board of her life. You could spend a hours here reading this and admiring, not only the house but the well presented garden. Any easy walk from the CBD where we were staying”
“It doesn't matter how many times you go here, it never gets old. The roses are gorgeous, and the plants are so well cared for. I wish I could live in the begonia house!”
“A sweet and welcoming venue. "The Heiress" was a world class performance! Loved our night at the Gryphon.”
“A wonderful theatre experience. The building and it's decor are breathtaking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The show was excellent. It was an unplanned night out but what a night!”
“The Maori Sidesteps were wonderful. Great music, great comedy and some important messages to top it off.”
“Great classic theatre still.in good condition. Very helpful volunteers and ushers. Views of stage from every seat. Been there for a music show and comedy show. Great acoustics for both”
“Hidden gem. This place's esthetic is true Japanese and yet, it's blended so well with good world beer and the art of conversation. Dominic, the bar owner made me feel welcomed and we chatted about the world and beer for ages. They made me great beer recommendations and made me a stonkin' vegan sandwich (pulled jackfruit). Low-key. Friendly. Tasty beer and snacks. Top marks!”
“We saw Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. ( 23/4/24 ) And was thoroughly entertained. What a fantastic performance and show! Really fun, a big party onstage. The music was amazing & voices incredible!! The pianist on stage was so clever, playing, conducting, and interacting with the actors too. I enjoyed this so so much and would encourage everyone to go see this really professional, fun modern musical while they have the chance. The theatre is gorgeous and intimate, but with plenty of space. The stage was very easy to see and nice and close. The staff were lovely. I loved everything about it. Thanks for a great night's entertainment, Hannah Theatre, the cast, musicians and everyone behind the scenes of Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812!!!”
“What a cool little bar. Locate the sign on the street and walk up the stairs. The entrance has no real sign, there is just a closed door and when opened reveals a funky bar. Cool atmosphere, would be great in winter on a cosy winter night but we enjoyed it on a hot summers night. Just stopped for one drink but wish we could have stayed longer.”
“My family and I just spent 3 nights here and had a lovely stay. The rooms are excellent and the staff at the dinning room are very thoughtful and caring. A special thanks to Inder who helped my wife and I set up dinning for two young children every morning. I would definitely stay here again.”
“We stumbled upon a cool little bar slightly off Courtenay Place in Wellington and ended up having such a fun night. We were drawn in because we heard some really good filler songs playing—these were the tracks they had on between the karaoke performances. We went in around 9 o’clock when karaoke was already going, and within an hour or two the place really came to life. It was such an amazing vibe with great music, a fun crowd, and plenty of energy. Definitely a memorable night out that happened by chance and turned into something awesome.”
“Cheap parking, and central location to plenty of restaurants, bars and theatres. Best suited to small vehicles, quite tight parking, and narrow thoroughfare to navigate. Paying via the app is quicker and easier than waiting to pay via the only two pay machines on the ground level. Lifts service the various levels and there is a staircase too - if you have prams and kids it's probably safer to drop the whānau (family) off outside first.”
“is a good viewpoint over Karori to the harbour. It's a not-too-difficult walk up from Hauraki Street, and an easy diversion if you're walking or riding along Skyline”
“Decent sized rooms with all the right amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Bed and pillows give a good nights sleep...and a very rare spa bath in the bathroom. Located close to good food choices”
“Stunning with super helpful lovely staff.”
