It’s a lovely glasshouse with tropical plants, flowers, and ferns. It’s quiet and colourful. A nice place to walk in the Botanic Garden. It’s peaceful and pretty. It’s small, so you can see it all quickly.
If you’re not a fan of Wellington’s cold weather and prefer warm places, this spot is highly recommended. Located inside the Botanic Garden, this glasshouse is pleasantly warm and filled with a variety of plants. It’s a bit small, but they sometimes hold events here, which makes it even more enjoyable. Check out Japanese garden next to the house! Very serene and meditating.
The Begonia house as the name implies has beautiful and colourful begonias. The glass house also has nice orchids, moss, water lilies and exotic plants. Next to the rose garden, must visit place in the Wellington Botanical Gardens
It doesn't matter how many times you go here, it never gets old. The roses are gorgeous, and the plants are so well cared for. I wish I could live in the begonia house!
So many colourful plants and flowers. For me as a photographer the ideal place for close-ups. Loved it to stroll around and enjoy the fantastic Begonia Glass House inside and the garden outside, with a short stop at the Cafe. Everyone who likes nature and botany, come and visit it!
Not only beautiful begonias, but all types of tropical plants in a lovely display.
I love going here, it is so colourful with flowers and amazing plants. If you want an instant fix of feeling wonderful pop along and enjoy the visual feast. There is a beautiful pond with water lilies and fish but be prepared for the humidity, it is very warm, a lovely array of orchids and tropical plants also are in this area. Public toilets are also in this area and an entrance to the cafe.
Love all the plants in here, so colorful and beautiful. It has plants from other countries like from Australia and Asian countries. Their effort is much appreciated!
The best place to visit in Wellington! At first we almost gave up to walk down to Rose Garden from the top of Cable Car because of the challenging hike. Luckily we still visit here by driving our rental car! The environment and flowers here are wonderful! Cool air and nice flower smells, the inside with rainforest and water plants are even better, I have seen plants that only saw from the the textbook! There is a cafe right next to the garden, decent price, great for break after a long walk! In my opinion, it’s the best place to visit in Town. Highly recommended!
Great variety of plants and flowers, part of the botanic Gardens. Very warm and humid inside. Rose garden outside. Cafe was very busy so perhaps do not count on it.
