“The food here is delicious and reasonable price. Wide open spaces and kid friendly environment.”
“Sierra Café on Lambton Quay is a handy little spot tucked away upstairs from the main street, which makes it feel a bit calmer than some of the busier Wellington cafés. The coffee here is solid — my flat white was smooth and strong enough to start the day. I ordered a vegan sandwich, which was creamy and tasty. The cabinet food looked fresh, with muffins, scones, and frittatas that seemed popular with other customers. Service was quick and friendly; even when the café started filling up around lunchtime, my order came out fast. The space has a relaxed, casual vibe and works well for either a quick stop or a longer sit-down. Prices are pocket-friendly. I liked that they cater to different diets with vegetarian and gluten-free options. It’s not the flashiest café in Wellington, but it’s dependable and comfortable. I’d happily come back, especially for breakfast or a mid-morning coffee.”
“Five stars for value - where else can you get a filling sit-down lunch meal including a salad for less than $10? Today i had a delicious spinach, mushroom and feta pastie with salad - more than enough for lunch. Staff are always friendly and there is a great range of cabinet food too.”
“First class all the way. The two young guys running the place are fantastic. The food is seriously good and it's popular for good reason. We'll be back when next in Wellington.”
“I’m sorry but how have I never been here before in my 14 years living in Wellington. Such a cosy nook, blink and you’ll miss it. the last Bastian of a cheap eggs on toast in Wellington if you will. AND mayoral candidate Rob Gouldon was seated there wearing a massive ribbon like a prize- what a treat. I’ll be back a million times over”
“Went here for the first time to see Wake Up Dead Man and it was a very nice experience. Although the layout made it feel a bit like a bingo parlour upon first entry, the amount of people gathered here gave the venue a much livelier feel than other local theatres, and the screens and audio quality were top notch. It had more of a community vibe than I was expecting and I think we’ll frequent this cinema more often than not in the future.”
“A great time! This favorite spot of Viggo Mortensen during his time filming Lord of the Rings in New Zealand is a must visit in Wellington!”
“We come here a lot to play but my daughters birthday party was at Chipmunks Lyall Bay today. It was AMAZING! The recent upgrades have made the venue so awesome all the kids loved it. The food was great, the party house was great, but the best part was how friendly the staff were- it was so busy and they were still able to make sure we had everything we needed and more! They were so caring and made it such a special and easy day for us. Highly recommend Chipmunks Lyall Bay, thank you guys I am so grateful for help in making my girls day so special!”
“Very nice smooth coffee with depth of flavour, I believe it was medium roast but still very enjoyable as someone who prefers a darker bean. Inside is very clean and well presented, and the outdoor garden is very nice, with murals and lights. Could be a good venue. Only feedback to the team is to clear tables more frequently, as there were a couple unattended and I see past reviews speak on this as well. Good atmosphere :)”
“Best curly fries around. Easy to have a conversation and be heard, the coffee is constantly good and recently become almost too pretty to drink.”
“Macaroni and mocha were absolutely delicious! Great service as well.”
“Amazing service, delicious food and creative meals, everything we needed to uplift the energy on a could rainy day ✨”
“Ben kimber service was amazing and wonderful and staff was amazing very helpful and great coffee”
“Indulge in the finest iced mocha in town priced at $6.80, boasting a perfect balance of sweetness and unparalleled flavor! It’s the ideal kickstart to your day. The noodles come along with generous amount fresh herb. Plus, the service is exceptional and welcoming. The café might not catch your eye from the outside, but trust me, it’s got all the goods, from great food to awesome service.”
“It's such a nice cafe at the waterfront of Days Bay. Nice atmosphere and staff. Sometimes, it takes a while for the kitchen, but that is mainly because of how busy it is. The food is great, cakes are nice and the coffee is good.”
“Great sized meals and delicious! Definitely made with love ❤ Highly recommend this cool place”
“Since coming to the region for work and finding this place I come for breakfast every morning. Best cafe I’ve found in Hastings! food, coffee and service is excellent”
“The cafe is casual and relaxed and the staff are really friendly. Food is really good - there is a lot of choice and ability to customise your meal. And the bonus of it being next to Bunnings is there is plenty of parking.”

“Stopped in for an ice latte, and Caet made one of the best I’ve had and I’ve traveled all over the word. He was very polite and welcoming all round a 5 star experience.”

“Love this local gem in Tawa. Reasonably priced with huge portions. Food is delicious and service fantastic. BYO.”
“Great selection of kai, inu, and treats. Order at the counter, table delivery, no fuss and no stress at this smorgasbord of goodness. My cousin got the salad and i grabbed a smoothie & club sammie. Prices are also brilliant—in this economy? Need good value places like these.”
“Came for a meeting and destroyed a coffee.. it was so strong it knocked me over chair and all.. onlookers gawked and children cried but I was OK. The cheese scones are apparently amazing, although I don't know how far the dollar stretches as my food was shouted for me.. give it a go, give it a review and improve on this review. Try the coffee it was nom.. peace”
“The local cafe in Wadestown and they do a lovely selection of drinks and food. Highly recommend their chai latte! ☕️”
“Just finished up a lovely night with the girls celebrating one of our friend's birthdays. We were served and looked after by the wonderful staff Rob. Want to say we were so impressed by his customer service, he went above and beyond and made our night a core memory. thank you Rob and staff for a wonderful night will be back next month!”
“If I could rate Palace Cafe higher, I would. There are three stand out things here. First, is the truly home made cabinet food. It's so wonderful to go somewhere and not see the same old bulk supply slices and biscuits. This is food with real flavour. Second is the delicious, generous and very reasonably priced meals. You won't walk away hungry or broke. And then the most valuable thing of all is the service. Here, there are genuine smiles and welcoming words that make you want to return just to experience the hospitality again.”
“First time here. And definitely won't be the last. Usual customer of the clocktower across the road. The egg Benny and the big breakfast was perfect. No drama everything was on point. Think top one has found itself a new customer.”
“Great place for a meal and cuppa and centrally located in the Hutt. Food is ok and we had the spicy chicken rice and steak with chips. The rice was similar to a tom yum flavoured dish however was a little oily. Steak wasn’t too bad. Coffee and service was fantastic though and will definitely be back to try their other items.”
