“I've been to most cafés around Wellington City and Petone/Lower Hutt, and Kelburn Café is hands down the most consistently amazing. I order Eggs Benedict everywhere I go, and after 10+ visits here, I've never once had an over—or undercooked egg - the consistency here is outstanding. It is a small café, so when it's busy there can be a short wait for food or coffee, but it's always worth it. The coffee is consistently perfect, and the beans they use are clearly top quality. The café is run by a small team who always serve with a smile, and the atmosphere is amazing. Couldn't recommend them enough - I'll definitely be back regularly.”

“All food and drink were tasty; toastie, Swiss roll and latte. Staff member was incredibly friendly and attentive. Prices were okay too, not overly expensive. The daily deals (some in review pictures) would make prices reasonable. Very cute space with lots of fun knick knacks and decor, and even had some pet items for sale. Overall a lovely place and I will definitely be back! Can tell the owners and staff love their cafe and take a lot of pride and joy in what they do :)”

“A wonderful birthday lunch at Picnic! I cannot thank Picnic Cafe enough for an absolutely fabulous 70th birthday lunch! It was Wellington on a good day and the roses were in full bloom. This is such a fantastic venue for Welly locals and especially for visitors. The service was outstanding with the manager and his staff graciously, attentively and very efficiently accommodating 26 exuberant family and friends. “Have visited this café many times in the past and it's always been good. Their drinks are nice and hot and the cabinet and cooked food is great. I think the scones are especially nice here. I have never had an issue finding a table but it does get popular for business meetings, so if you go around lunch time it may be busy”

The prawns were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy in every bite. It's easily one of the best prawn curries I've ever had, and I highly recommend it!”
