“First timer and had a wheel alignment booked at 9am. Car was ready in an hour. Appears to be a thorough service as other places only take 30 mins or less ! Very busy centre so best to book in advance. Waiting area in foyer as well. Good place indeed.”
“Great experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend at all. This is the place to go!!! Many thanks!!!”
“I just want to pass on our thanks to the installer. He phoned and gave some advice on several things that would improve storage and ensure wardrobe doors didn’t get worn out. He has done an awesome job, we feel the job is great value for money and couldn’t fault the service. The end result has improved storage 10 fold and saved us the hassle and time of trying to do this ourselves Much appreciated. We would happily recommend you and the team to others”
“Another great place to come when u need supplys to make your home the best it can be, and brilliant staff here aswell”
“We urgently needed change coach tyres on Sat. Team at Advantage made space for us and changed tyres like thunder. That helped coach can go back to road without any time lose. And we went back for re torque and pressure check for other tyres they also quickly helped. Awesome tyre place to go. Thanks again.”
“Mikayla was my stylist and she was amazing!!! Very polite and professional, she listened to what i wanted to have done and looked through idol pics with me! Mikayla talked me through my options and the process for each one even getting me a drink and a snack!”
“Great service!! I took my old bike in to get a couple of repairs done. James quickly fixed it, plus did a few bonus tweaks to it as well. He explained how I could further improve the condition of my bike and also gave me good advice on the pros and cons on the maintenance of my current bike vs buying a new one. Thanks James, I appreciated your service.”
“Taken my car here a few times over the past year or so and they are always straight up about things. Told me a job would be $300 turned out to be cheaper. Never had any more than they quoted me on and they usually can fit you in pretty quickly.”
“Excellent job, the tile layer was courteous and attention to detail surpassed our expectations. Highly recommend, tiling our patio area really visually elevated our space.”
“Ah, Cycleways Bike Shop—a true gem of the bike repair world and, apparently, a haven for stranded gravel bikes needing a bit of TLC. My visit here was not just a transaction; it was an experience of unexpected camaraderie, stellar service, and the kind of goodwill you don’t always expect right after the festive chaos of Christmas. Here’s the blow-by-blow of what went down: • The Welcome: I was greeted by a friendly American bloke, the kind who makes you feel like you’ve just entered his home rather than a shop. Polite, cheerful, and dangerously competent—this guy knew his stuff. He took my forlorn Giant SLR gravel bike under his wing, nodding knowingly as I explained its myriad woes. • The Plan: A brake bleed? Done. A new 10-speed chain cut? Sorted. Promised me I could pick it up the next day, which is either mad optimism or sheer confidence at this time of year. • The Execution: True to their word, I got the “your bike is ready” text the very next day. I shot over quicker than a downhill run, and there she was, gleaming like new (well, close enough). • The Chain: Cut perfectly—no clanking, rattling, or regretful sighs. • The Brakes: Bled and back to stopping power. A year of neglect on the trainer? Consider it forgiven. • The Derailleurs: Oh, and they went rogue here in the best way—gave both the front and rear derailleurs a tweak, just because they could. Shifting was smoother than my best race day. • The Cost: $130 for the lot, and this included some above-and-beyond touches. For post-Christmas service, that’s a steal. • The Verdict: They’re not my regular bike shop, but they’re making a compelling case to be. The combination of excellent workmanship, reasonable pricing, and downright good vibes was enough to win me over. Would I recommend them? Absolutely. If you’ve got a gravel bike—or any bike, really—that’s been sitting around, Cycleways will whip it back into shape faster than you can say “brake bleed.” Final thoughts: They’re a good lot. Pop in if you want proper service without the faff.”
“Lovely little OP Shop, always a collection of random free items outside and very well organised items inside. The board behind the counter with all the dogs that are being helped out by the charity just add to it and it's great knowing that anything spent here is going to such a good charity. Grabbed so many different bits and bobs for the house from here and always pop in if I'm in the area.”
“Great service, knowledgeable staff. Definitely recommend for any of your landscape supplies. Delivery service got to my site before I did!”
“I popped into Nifty for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it! The store is really spacious and beautifully set up, with such a great range of clothing to browse through. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of my new favourite op shops – I’ll be back for sure!”
“I used their brilliant deal where you buy a second hand bike from them and then return it at the end of your holiday (almost 3 weeks) and they buy it back for half what you paid. The bike was brilliant in very good condition and allowed me to explore Christchurch with ease. My fav place has to be Bottle Lake and the forest tracks. I didn't use the bike on a bus service but a friendly bus driver let me take a photo of my bike on the bus to show friends back home, what a fab way to take your bike further afield. Richard York UK”
“Awesome family business. Sell a wide variety of recreational gear that is not on their website. The son knows his stuff and backs it up with his fishing. Highly recommend”
“I showed up Sunday 21/12/25 at 9am with a puncture which they repaired quickly, and, by the time I left at 9.30am 9 other customers showed up. I was so grateful that this place was willing to open up shop on a Sunday when the majority of the other tyre shops were closed until Monday. Amazing”
“Thank you Saheli for coming through on our last minute orders of polynesian wear for our spiritual parents. You have offered us exceptional customer service at an affordable cost too. Keep up the great work everyone.”
“Thanks to Mark and the team for superb customer service. We appreciate your recommendations and flexibility with our timeframe, friendly service and the quality of your product!”
“Absolutely delightful atmosphere with a video showing floral landscapes and tranquil music. Cappuccino good. Friendly staff. As a follower of Jesus, I felt very comfortable here. 4:44 pm on September 19 2025”
“Amazing store . Visited these guys a few weeks ago for a stick vacuum and the guys who served me were friendly and helpful”
“Really friendly and helpful service to find what I was looking for.”
“We are a long-time customer, and the reason why is we've been consistently satisfied with the service we get, especially from Perry, who goes out of his way to make sure we are happy with our purchases. I would highly recommend George Henry & Co to anyone seeking quality tools and equipment, whether you are Trade like us or an individual.”
“Excellent staff. Awesome range of products. Easy parking”
“Fantastic service, staff really helped when I was struggling to post a saddle. Offered to box it up for me and gave advice as to where to post it, very helpful!”
“Very professional, easy communication, great conversations and amazing tattoo work. Very skilled artist”
“Love this shop. Great gift and everyday items”
“What an amazing shop full of amazing craft from talented locals”
“Visited recently and was very impressed with the quality of stock that was available for purchase. The nursery is so well laid out and the ability to drive up and down the rows and load your vehicle as you go was unique and appreciated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend and will return.”
“Friendly staff and good product/equipment range”
“Regards "Sam Wilsons" poor experience with Machinery House. We have three Sam Wilsons who have shopped with us in the past. None of them have spent a great deal of money with us and they all live away from Christchurch. None of our staff recall dealing with tooling for "this" person and when I discussed this with George Henry, none of them recall "this" person either. I have asked Google to take this review down, but they don't seem interested so I feel obliged to respond as a reviewer myself. We offer a very good service to anyone how comes in our doors and we do not dis respect any other business whilst conducting our business. We have staff members with a great deal of actual experience of 'doing' engineering and other aspects of machining etc. We are not able to help everyone that comes in the door but we will do our best to point you in the right direction to get you underway. We are here to help you, noy do your job for you. All the best 'SAM'. Would like to meet you one day.”
