“My partner recently discovered this amazing place and, to our delight, we found out that the chef who owns it used to work at Higher Taste India down at Lambton Quay before it closed down. We were big fans of that place and felt saddened by its closure. We've been on the lookout for another delicious and reasonably priced Vegan Indian restaurant. Finally, we decided to give this place a try, and for lunch, I ordered the Vegetarian Manchurian with Basmati rice. The portion was more than generous, and the flavors were exquisitely balanced and exceptional. The experience was so delightful that we are already planning to make this restaurant a regular dining spot for us.”

“Excellent service on Mothers day where we enjoyed a filling, value for money menu in a friendly customer focused atmosphere. We ate inside where we were able to order off a varied menu. We ordered the benediction breakfast, and the big breakfast. Both were flavourful, with generous portions. The coffee was hot, and well made, in fact we ordered another at the end of our meal, taking our time to catch up without feeling rushed. We met Shaheen the owners wife who was checking to see that we were okay. Thank you to the chef, barista, and welcoming staff who made my mother's day very special.”

“We decided to try this place after asking some diners who were just leaving if they enjoyed there food. Nice clean premises with an eclectic decor. We were seated with menus & hot Jasmine tea. So hard to choose from the beautiful pics in the menu! We ordered two types of fried dumplings, a pork dish and a beef dish. Food came out fast, nice big portions and full of flavour! “Mamak was a wonderful spot to catch up and enjoy some warm, comforting food. I had dinner there with two friends. Since I had heard their roti is popular, I ordered it along with a curry chicken laksa. Even though it was a Wednesday, the place still had a nice crowd. The laksa was hearty and delicious, and the roti was perfect for dipping. Definitely a place I would recommend!”

“Golden Silk Thai is a special place where very good food can be found. I am not unfamiliar with Golden Silk as the family have been getting take aways there for years. They provide a very authentic menu and is well worth spending time in the restaurant too as some of the best dishes are only served in the restaurant. Highly recommended”

“Ordered on line. Pick up time said 7:16 didn’t get my food until 7:45. I don’t mind waiting for food but I do get frustrated when they say pick up at such a time and then keep you waiting half an hour. They need to sort out their pick time on the Internet.”

“First time trying this place after moving into the area. Ordered a hot red duck curry takeaway. Took about 15 minutes. It was so good! Lots of vegetables, a whole breast cut up on top and actually spicy! Came with rice so very well priced for $24, especially for the duck serving. Woman on counter super friendly. Will be back!”

This was outstanding, the wait staff really looked after our table despite the cheek I gave them all. The place settings and tea selection was first class, then came the delicious high tea style food plus hot savouries absolutely amazing and super delicious we managed to eat everything presented! After our feasting we all went for a stroll around the beautiful property, fantastic a wonderful place for wedding photo shoot! Oh and the venue of course. “Firstly, these guys offer those super tasty Cantonese/Hong Kong flavours - not the less satisfying mainland Chinese flavours becoming more prevalent in the city. Even the free soup (see pics) was tastier than many paid soups found in other restaurants. We ordered the Dry Fried Round Beans (G1 on the menu at the time of ordering) which comes with that super tasty Cantonese pork sauce - it makes everything taste better! And a big serve of Soy Chicken BBQ noodle soup (N2 on the menu at the time of ordering) - you won’t leave hungry! Delicious Cantonese style Soy chicken & BBQ pork with egg noodles - and that sweet/umami combo Cantonese soups are famous for. Even the tea was special, with a balanced, light fragrance which comes from a touch of lemon - a house blend apparently. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!”
