“This is a nice and delicious Thai restaurant. I tried the slow cook beef cheeks and it was fantastic. A bit spicy but nothing I could handle (I’m Mexican). The side of Jazmin rice was very good and helped with the spiciness. They have Tuatara and Tiger beer on tap.”
“We had a delightful dinner at Siamese Doll recently. The flavours were amazing, portions were generous, the service was attentive without being overbearing. We had 2 entrees, 4 mains and a round of drinks for $60 a head, which I thought was great value. Great to see a busy restaurant on a Wednesday night! They also dealt with my daughter’s nut allergy seriously and respectfully. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”
“It's been a while since I have been to this restaurant although I have had some good takeaways from it. The meal last night was of an excellent quality , with good friendly service. I continue to rate this as one of the best Japanese restaurants around. I will be back.”
“Brought my parents here for their 45th anniversary, was totally worth it. Got to try their Kagoshima A5 wagyu to see if it lived up to the hype. Was amazing. Never tasted beef like that before, melted in my mouth like butter, didn't need any garnish or condiments, just grilled and seared to perfection. The set menu was good too but the Wagyu was definitely the highlight. The different wine pairings worked really well too”
“Everything about our visit was genuinely impressive. The service was some of the best I’ve experienced in a long time - attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was also a standout. It had a great vibe, plenty of space, and a comfortable layout with good distance between tables, which is something we really value when choosing where to dine. The only downside for me was the braised pork. It was a bit on the chewy side and didn’t fall apart the way I’ve had it at other places, so it didn’t quite meet the standard of the rest of the meal. Other than that small issue, everything else was excellent. The overall experience was great, and I’ll definitely be returning.”
“Wow, just Wow! Food was absolutely amazing. The ambiance and service was amazing too. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and they even turned down the lights to sing happy birthday. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes. Thank you for a beautiful night out. Highly recommend.”
“From the moment we stepped through the doors we were warmly welcomed! The customer service is exceptional. Food was excellent. Overall an amazing experience and would definitely return!!!”
“I love this place! Really good food and service. Prices are reasonable, too. There's not really a downside, but if you're seated in the separate booths in the hallway, you lose some of the atmosphere, but if you're looking for some privacy, that's the spot. 5 stars!!”
“Nice, simple but delicious food. Possibly the best value Japanese meal in Auckland. The service was excellent, and the owner was friendly and welcoming. This will be our regular Japanese restaurant. The food was so good I forgot to take pics of the rest of the meal.”
“Have had the lunch deal a couple of times and find it unbeatable for value”
“Authentic Yakitori bar in Auckland, you must try the prawn with pork, it was juicy and delicious!”
“My wife and I dined here for our wedding anniversary. We opted for the late lunch and went with the 9 course Winter Feast menu. I can only say that the food was fantastic and would be hard pressed to pick which was my favourite. I am not really a desert fan, but the chocolate mousse and the souffle were next level. Staff were exceptional and gave a good briefing on each course. I will definitely be visiting here again.”
“W organised our Wedding party private function at Rosanna's on the 24th of September and we had a blast. The space is great, with a nice leafy outdoor/indoor flow. The team was fantastic, lovely and very professional, and let us do pretty much anything we wanted in terms of layout, decoration and food. And the food was delicious. We really recommend this place for anyone looking to host an event, the location is central, easy to park around and excellent value for pricing. And the fact they are dog friendly is such a plus. Thank you so much!”
“Owner of the restaurant is very friendly and customer service oriented. We had a booking on Sat night, restaurant somehow messed up our booking. Instead of turning us away, the owner apologies and worked out a plan to have us seated at the back. Even gone to a step further and shouted dinner for our birthday boy. Very much enjoyed our experience here, and will be back. Thank you.”
“This is one of the finest restaurants in Auckland city. I seldom write reviews about restaurants. My brother was a chef and you have to be pretty good to impress me. It is a popular Middle-Eastern and South-West Asian restaurant with authentic and traditional dishes. It is the "chef that makes the restaurant", not the other way round. The dishes were outstanding! I have just come back from Melbourne city and they blow away the competition over there. They win hands down, nobody comes even close to them. I had Tabouleh which comes from modern-day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Israel. It is a staple in Lebanese cuisine and has been a part of Middle Eastern culinary traditions for centuries. Greek salad, snapper and lamb. Every dish was fantastic!”
“One of the best restaurants in Auckland for Mediterranean cuisine. Made fresh, the meat dishes actually taste fresh. Don’t expect some fancy interior or fine dine but defenitely some of the best tasting meal you can have. It’s best to go as a group as the serving portions are very generous. Also the best naan (bread) is done here. Been there twice (lunch and dinner) and will surely revisit again”
“The food is great and the service is so quick and friendly. Love the lamb here. Lunch specials are a great value for money. It’s highly consistent and the portion size is decent. It can get very busy during peak lunch hours so best to make a booking especially for a larger group. Highly recommended !”
“We had the Rumi special. It came with chicken, lamb mince and beef kebabs. The meats were super tender and flavourful. Would come again!”
“Hidden little gem, in a quite corner of a small shopping centre. The banjan borani was absolutely amazing, with the kebabs platter & biryani to go on the side, was a delicious meal. Service was almost non existent but the authentic chefs in the background stole the show for us.”
“Okay just get two dishes. Samsun jjajjangmyun (seafood version of the black bean noodle) and chapsal tangsooyook (fried pork with sweet and sour source but the chapsal (sticky rice) version . We got the smaller size this day. These are our go to. We have tried some of the other dishes but these two are worth it!”
“Great service and relaxing atmosphere. The drinks were delicious and nicely presented. The food is very well executed with tonnes of flavour. The standout was the pork belly with a wonderfully crispy skin and a sweet/savoury jus. The bombe alaska was also another great dish, with a well balanced berry compote, ice cream and a smokey meringue. The owners and staff really put in an effort in the restaurant experience and it shows! We’ll be back for sure.”
“A group of 4 of us had a wonderful long lunch with Natalia and Karl and the Engine Room team. I think we shared just about everything on the menu and it was all superb, as was the service and wines”
“Super nice steak if you want to treat yourself. I found the service was a bit slow but the food was top notch. They show you the cuts before you order which is really handy as if you are not an officialdo then it is not clear what you are going to get. Order you mains, sauce and then side. You are talking about $100-$150 per person by the time you include drinks and sides. The meat was super tender and glad we came. We went on a Thursday and it was busy, with people sitting outside. Well worth a visit and the food quality of food is excellent.”
“Delightful! Memorable, and worth going back again and again! The staff here are so nice, so humane, friendly and caring. Food is absolutely remarkable; their sauces are so unique and really mouth-watering. My go-to is the wings & chips with the nice & spicy sauce (it plays so nicely with the blue cheese dip that comes with it). Top hidden jewel in NZ.”
“A great little find off the main road on Parnell. It was very quiet which was nice for us as a family of 5. Had really generous sized meals packed with lots of flavour. The drinks were nice and cold I enjoyed the passion fruit mojito. Our children loved their meals just a bit large for them. The lunch specials were delicious and very lovely service from the hosts. Reasonable pricing for quality meals.”
“I went there a Friday night and the place was quite crowded. It seem to be quite popular. I had a butter chicken, tikka chicken fries and garlic naan. It was a really good place, I really liked the environment as well as the food, which was really nice. The staff were really nice. I recommend this place.”
“I had no idea that Sals now does Hawaiian pizza! Had to go and try at my local Sals store in Wynyard Quarter and it was awesome! Lovely thin pizza bases and the toppings are top notch. Highly recommend any Sals Pizza store to everyone. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales”
“Great authentic tasting Thai food. Spicier than your usual neighborhood restaurant, closer to what we've had when we visited Thailand. A bit cramped for larger groups, but for 4 or less a great spot.”
“Popped in for dinner after the Allblacks game and were rewarded with exceptional service and a wonderful meal. I love to slow cook so I ordered the beef cheek , WOW… I was not disappointed it was beautifully cooked and the flavours were wonderful. There is a big screen here which has me thinking I may book dinner for the next game. Looking forward to returning and sampling some more things on the menu. Highly recommend!”
“The service was warm and cheerful. The wine list was carefully considered and excellent. All the food served was top notch. The manager actually stayed slightly late to help return some sunglasses left by one of our party which was really the icing on the cake. Thoroughly recommend”
