   To be honest, when I first looked at the menu, I was quite excited — but once the food arrived, I was pretty disappointed. The portions were just so tiny, and with those prices, you’d expect not only more food but also a better overall taste. Don’t get me wrong, the salmon was good (just way too small), and the breaded tentacles were mostly just batter in terms of flavor. For me, it wasn’t really worth it — but if you don’t mind spending quite a bit of money to feel properly satisfied, then you’ll probably be fine.

   Best yakitori since I was in Sapporo. What a treat to have some true Japanese hospitality in the cbd. Sugoi. Order lots, and saviour the true charcoal flavour infusion in these stick sized flavour bursts great selection of shochu amd Japanese beers.

   Very authentic, and the number of Japanese speaking guests is proof of that. But some portions were a fair bit smaller than I expected for the price - but maybe that's on me as a tourist. All tasted excellent, except I didn't like the yaki onigiri at all. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

   Honestly Bonjiri had me as soon as we were seated. You are presented with the menu then a plate of cabbage with dipping sauces (mayo and miso-y/satay) which I thought was odd at first but then found very addicting with the sauces. They even refilled it when we finished it! The skewers themselves were delicious and I personally really enjoyed the classic chicken thigh yakitori. The beef tataki was also beautifully refreshing to balance out the rich flavours from the skewers. We had along the bar and found it never felt too smokey despite being close to the chef grilling the skewers. The venue also looked small but there was enough space between the bar and the tables against the wall that we didn’t feel like we had to squeeze up against the bar which was nice.
