I planned to have a nice dinner to celebrate my boyfriendβs birthday, but it turned into a disappointing night. We ordered three dishes: Albondigas, Venison Stew, and Eye Fillet. The Eye Fillet was tasteless. the meat wasnβt juicy and was a bit tough. The Venison Stew was the worst. The meat was extremely dry, with a burnt and bitter flavour. We took one bite and couldnβt continue. The dish came with mash potato infused with truffle and topped with fried shallots, which we tried our best to finish. The staff were friendly when taking our order, and one checked on us shortly after the food arrived. Since we had just started eating, we said everything was fine. Later, another staff member came to check, and we mentioned how dry the venison was. The original staff member then insisted she had already asked and we said it was okay, making it seem like we were exaggerating. That felt unacceptable for customer service, we were simply sharing our honest feedback. Overall, the experience felt like a complete waste of time and money. The food quality was nowhere near what we expected for the price, and it definitely wasnβt worthy of a special occasion. I was going to let it go, but my stomach was upset for the rest of the night. People should be aware of the food quality here. I do not recommend the three dishes we ordered.

This is one of my fav eateries in the Bays. '-)) Can see Rangitoto & sea from the front tables. The food is always GREAT - Mediterranean cuisine- Paella, Osso Bucca- spanish influence. Nice wines too. SPECIALS- They have food specials - Tu-Thurs. & they have BYO Sun & Mon. Happy Hour 3-6pm daily See their website, under MENU. The owner is very friendly and nice ambience/design. Highly recommended

Good authentic Spanish food. We enjoyed the rich flavours in the Squid dish - main sized. Really good - recommended! The paella was rich and delicious, full of seafood and great flavours. Large serve. Good garlic and cheese bread pizza. Leafy salad with olives and feta good too! Cheap drink 3pm - 6pm 8$ wines and beers Enjoyed the Seaview from a table near the front of the restaurant. Only downside was the tables are very close - so the conversation of you and your neighbours are not privateβ¦

Absolutely lovely! What a gem, a neighbourhood joy. We came from the inner city, here on business, and we were not disappointed. This could have been anywhere downtown. The food was excellent, the service of our Danish waitress was first-class: in fact all the staff were professional, fast, efficient, friendly and fun. We had Patata Bravas, the broccoli, the meatballs and the empanadas as tapas. Then we moved onto the fish of the day, snapper, and two excellent steaks. The beers on tap were superb. For those who can walk round the corner and have a world-class Mediterranean menu just metres from home - lucky you! β‘Μ

Absolutely made the right choice when I walked into this cafe randomly on a Sunday morning. Great vibe! Great Food and amazingly friendly staffs. We got a bunch of stuff off the menu and everything was really good. Thereβs also good options for special dietary requirements and flexibility to remove certain ingredients. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick breakfast or lunch option. They even have an all day Tapa menu which has quite good options as well.

Hadnβt been to La Vista Cafe & Restaurant for a while however nothing really has changed apart from it still holding good ground in St Heliers of course. Ran with just a couple of side tapas today being CRAB & PRAWN ARANCINI Served with pea tartare, GF and a couple of hash browns but never less all good. They run a tight kitchen so no major waiting around. Do go try for yourself.

I was in a bit if a rush so sadly didn't take enough videos of the place and the food but this is easily one of the best cafes I have been to since returning to New Zealand. Food Coffee and the eggs bene I had was perfect. Eggs was cooked perfectly, Hollandaise sauce wasn't a fatty mess. Well balanced and presented well. The place Really nice decor and vibe plus it's St Helliers so great view of the beach and Rangitoto. Service was friendly and attentive. Just nice people Will definitely come again when I have q bit more time
