I tried the pies from this bakery, and they were beautiful. You can really tell they’re great at making pastry. The filling was a little bit salty for my taste, but not a big deal. My donut was beautiful too—really enjoyed it!
Coffee was some of the most bitter I've ever had. Staff were lovely and remade the coffee, but the next one they made was just as bad.. Croissant and sausage roll were dense and underwhelming. A shame because I liked this bakery a few years ago. Hopefully it's just an off day?
I think I’ve found my new favourite bakery. Everything I’ve tried so far has been spot on. Really impressed. Loved the strawberry tart especially - buttery shell, light custard and juicy strawberries.
Look, good bakeries are hard to come by....that's because this one is all the way out here in West Melton. I absolutely love the food here, it's a truely authentic French bakery and it's definitely the best steak and cheese pie I've tried. If this is normal french quality then KIWI bakeries have alot to answer for with their quality. The pricing is rather expensive but it's not too opportunistic, it's a small local business so it's enough for me to not batter an eye at and to just pay.
Great cafe, the smaller indoor seating area goes well with the french bakery atmosphere. My smoked chicken pie looked and tasted really good, with a generous amount of filling. The reason I didn't give the food 5 stars is the pastry was very soft and I like a bit more of a flaky pastry and to be able to hold the pie without feeling like it's going to fall apart.
Highly recommend, their croissants are so good, it’s not hot but still yummy and coffee is pretty good as well. Can come here between lunch and breakfast otherwise you might need to wait for a while.
Nice food as always but shame about the rubbish mat at the door. My daughter slipped as we went in and my sister slipped as we went out. I told one of the girls when our coffee came outside, as I had moved it out of the way but it was put back at the door. As I’m on a walking stick I will not be returning until a safer mat is in place.
Had this place on the list for a while and we were on the right side of Christchurch to make a 20 minute drive here. Pretty good selection for a small shop. Highlights were the black Forrest slice and tiramisu tart. The pies we had (steak and chicken/cranberry were great flavour wise with delicious pastry however both had soggy bottoms with mine being about to burst possibly due to the liquid ratio so as a work around ate the pies upside down. Also grabbed a sour dough baguette to go with some pasta later. The server wasn’t having their best day which can happen. Place has a lot going for it. If half stars were an option I would go 4.5 stars here.
One of my favorite bakery in New Zealand. I've tried the croissant, the almond croissant, the lemon tart, the mil feullie... everything was amazing. The puff pastry was one the best that I have tried! I was happily surprised. Good job guys. I really enjoyed my visit to Les Delices!!!
