“Budget friendly, disabled friendly. The food was delicious..The staff were very helpful and the service was awesome. Enjoyed the food with my family.”
“Holy cow!! Amazing!! Top notch service and flavors! One of the best bfasts we've had! Thank you!”
“When I've had a bad day or feeling unwell the wonton soup will brighten anyone's day. Every thing a have tasted is great . I take my friends here and send pics of all my dishes I eat to promote how great this cafe is.”
“I'm vision impaired and struggled to read their menu (Very small print with fancy font). It's very busy and I found it difficult to read what they had. It also says online that they make vegan Mac n cheese etc however when I asked they only had soups and fresh sandwiches, tacos etc. The chipotle taco, soup and sandwich I had on two separate occasions were delicious and the fact they cater for vegans and vegetarians is amazing. Seems alternative eating has gone backwards everytime I visit NZ however this place is amazing.”
On the plate at Black Pearl Cafe, the idea is Thai-inspired and well executed. Curries carry clear spice and warmth. The room sits relaxed with an easy buzz. Team members keep things friendly and on task.
“Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had!!! Perfectly poached eggs. There was a good selection of breakfast items to choose from as well as some gorgeous cakes/pastries and some pre-made cold sandwiches. The coffee was fantastic. The staff was so friendly. The prices are incredibly reasonable. You have the option of either indoor or outdoor seating. Highly recommend this spot!!”
“Absolutely love the hot mocha at the artisan cafe! The rich, creamy chocolate combined with the perfect amount of espresso creates a deliciously indulgent drink. The presentation is always top-notch, and the cozy ambiance of the cafe makes it the perfect spot to enjoy this delightful treat. Definitely a must-try for any coffee lover!”
“The fairways look like greens. Greens extremely fast. I think i heard someone say a 13 on the scales.”
“What a delicious lunch! Highly recommend the avo toast and pulled pork eggs Benedict. The kids lunch includes a cheese toast, fruit and dessert and my son loved it. We will definitely be visiting often!”

“Best pies in Hastings HANDS DOWN! Without a word of a lie, these pies are amazing and a steal @ $5.50! Superb tasty fillings and the most delicious flaky, melt in your mouth pastry, I’ve tasted in Heretaunga. Great coffee at a very reasonable price too ($5.50 for XL Latte). I’ve also tried dine in - the Eggs Benedict was lovely and great value @$11.50. Super quick service too from this little local family owned/run business. My favourite!!!”
“Don't judge a book by its cover!! The place needs some love visually BUT.. Food was delish and so was the coffee! I had pancakes with blueberries and banana which were chunky and went down a treat, so much so that my toddler took most of them! hubby had eggs bene which got a big thumbs up too :) The lady was so friendly and so patient and kind to my extremely energetic toddler, made the whole trip better meeting her !”
“Great service food and coffees! Staff were greeting each customer as they came in!”
The kitchen at Serendipity Cafe takes a classic fish-and-chips path and lets the food speak. There’s room for a casual brunch with friends. Plates offer plenty without tipping heavy. Combinations read bold but stay balanced.
On the plate at Mondo Cafe, the idea is coffee-and-cabinet and well executed. Service moves quickly through the morning rush. Service stays present without fuss. Portions are generous yet well judged....

“Clean, bright, friendly, and it's nice to stop and think before that major purchase at mitre 10. I love the orange cakes, but find the frosting a bit too sweet. Great coffee as always!”

“Such a beautiful space to spend a day workin away on my laptop (or hanging out with friends, or a meeting/workshop!) - so spacious, a swing and table tennis with baker Scott. And beautiful food. Feels like home, a community place. And the most beautiful interior, feels exquisite!”

“I was shopping around looking for a bakery to do gluten free cakes for a future event and I came across a review for gluten free items at Frimley Bakery. WHAT? No way! I went there like 7 years ago and I could only get a $9 toastie (good but $9 in 2018). Today they have a whole shelf of GF items and there is savoury and sweet. I got a whole spice loaf for $7.50!!!! It is soft and yummmmmm!”
“Mamas Donuts are by far the best ive had. The ladys there are awesome and they have a wide variety of selections. I could not recommend them more ❤️”
