“Always awesome. As a couple we would visit Bootleg at least monthly and each visit is just a great experience. The venue is comfy, rustic, an excellent example of giving life into an old building. The staff go out of their way to welcome us and free tastings are part of the experience. I am not an avid craft beer drinker, but there are so many other options, cider/sours/ lagers...the rhubarb cider when on tap is amazing. Thanks Bootleg team”

“I have done this place a huge injustice by living in Hamilton for 10 years without knowing it existed!!! The interior resembles a real Italian trattoria, and the ambience is authentic. The food was brilliant, and we tried traditional pizza, bolognese snd parmigiana. Gelato and tiramisu rounded up the wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!”

“If you’re ever in Hamilton, I absolutely suggest giving Dr Donburi a try. It’s a fantastic spot that won’t break the bank, with hearty portions and incredible flavors. We tried Teriyaki chicken and Chicken Katsu Donburi. The free-flowing miso soup is a great bonus, and the staff are genuinely welcoming, making the whole dining experience even better. Honestly, it checks all the boxes!”

“I have been wanting to try this place for some time now on my work visits down from Auckland. Glad I finally did, new fav Hamilton restaurant! Service was outstanding, food was absolutely delicious. I had the Turkish meatballs as per wait staff recommendation (I would not normally order this dish first up) and I did not regret it. Portion size was not huge (which I prefer) so room for desert and the baklava and tahini ice cream did not disappoint. You can tell there are some generational recipes being passed down here. Yum!”

Not only were Alpino great to work with to set up how I wanted the experience, on the day they delivered 110%. The food was to die for, service was friendly and efficient. We were sat in the area at the front that is somewhat closed off from the rest of the restaurant and it couldn't have been more perfect. “Absolutely fantastic restaurant! We've dined here a few times and the staff have always been very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The set menus come with a good variety of starters and mains, and everyone loved what was offered. The restaurant is also split into three dinning areas, so you have a choice of sitting outside or in a more cosy booth. Very popular restaurant, so strongly recommend booking ahead to secure a table.”

“I absolutely love the chicken Pho here. This is my go to place for that yummy soup. The summer rolls are cheap and look great but they don't have coriander in them so I don't get them. The vietnamese springs rolls are also one of my favourites but I haven't found a good one yet in Hamilton.”

Seafood was super fresh, especially the prawns and calamari – cooked just right. Only downside was the sauce on a couple of dishes – felt a bit heavy and overpowered the natural flavours. Would’ve been perfect with just a lighter touch. Still, a great place to relax with a drink and enjoy the view. Worth a visit, especially if you’re into bold flavours and casual coastal dining.”
