   I think I may have just had my best udon in my life. It’s freshly made on the spot. Which may explain for the wait - which is well worth it. The chicken tempura is amazing with the tartar sauce. You should just order that. It’s a classic and must order. We went there thrice. Go around 1130am for no queue

   This place serves up some really delicious udon! The restaurant seating area is quite cosy, so we opted to eat outside, which was lovely. We ordered the Stamina Udon and the Cold Udon. Both dishes were well-composed with great ingredients, and tasted absolutely fantastic. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant itself was very clean. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

   I recently visited Waikato Udon, a cozy and authentic Japanese udon house tucked away on Grey Street, Hamilton. I ordered two of their best sellers — Niku Udon and Gyu Don — and both were absolutely delicious. The flavours felt fresh, balanced, and a little special, the kind of taste that makes you want to come back. The service was on the slower side, but with only two hardworking staff members — one taking orders and serving, the other cooking — it’s completely understandable. They were upfront about the wait time, and since everything is freshly prepared to order, the short delay felt well worth it. The shop itself is quite small, with limited seating, so it’s best to avoid peak hours if you can. Parking can also be tricky around lunchtime. On the plus side, they offer vegetarian options and can cater to certain dietary restrictions, which is great for inclusivity. Overall, Waikato Udon is a hidden gem for those who appreciate authentic Japanese flavours and don’t mind a relaxed pace for freshly made food. A little patience here goes a long way — and your taste buds will thank you.

   I have been in the area for many years and passed by this small shop many times. This time I told myself why not to give it a try. And I have to admit that it was my right choice. The freshly hand-made udon with delicious soup made me feel very satisfied after eating. In addition, friendly staff added more points to customer experience at this shop. I will definitely come back and enjoy the udon here. It becomes my first choice whenever I want to eat out.

   Highly recommend this cozy, little eatery. I've never been to Japan but when I visit here I feel like I'm briefly transported to Japan. I always order Kakiage Udon with a poached egg. Good value for money, friendly service. Everything is made fresh so expect a little wait during busy times - completely worth it.

   There is a reason this restaurant has 5 stars. My friend and I had the Spicy Niku Tama Udon and I walked away, happily full, with what is likely the best udon I've ever had. The beef, noodles, egg, and broth were each amazing. The staff is so lovely as well, we'll be back to this gem without a doubt to try their other offerings!
