“We were very impressed with the facilities at Te Aroha campground. We stayed in a campervan on a non powered site. Appreciated the oak trees and the shade they provided on a hot summers day. The pool was fantastic, amazing views out to the mountain. We appreciated the hot spring/mineral hot tub after climbing up mt Te Aroha. Cannot fault this place, if you are looking for great value, great facilities look no further.”

“This place is excellent the manager Mavis and her staff are lovely people. Straight across the rd is a dairy which is so convenient and up the rd 5mins is countdown. Please ignore the negative reviews this motel is beautiful.”

“Great stay as the area was quiet and the apartment was clean and spacious. However, the cloth line was broken and the bathroom door could not be closed fully, leaving a gap that could see through the bath area. Worth noting that the check-in was at a different place but, the communication was great and we received reminders, directions & instructions for the check-in the day before.”

“Absolutely loved our time at the hot spring pool! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The 80s music playing in the background added a fun and nostalgic touch to the experience. What stood out was the careful water maintenance – minimal chlorine and sulfur smell, making the soaking truly relaxing. The different pool temperatures catered to all our preferences, and the large pool with the little cannon-like side was a hit with our boys. The real stars of the show were the waterslides – the fastest and longest in NZ, and they didn't disappoint! The rush of the "Kamikaze" slide and the excitement of the longest slide were beyond words. You can adjust the speed, if it gets too fast for you. We were trying to get it all from the slides, hence the speed fraction bruises here and there ;) but the bum-sliding challenge worth it (I won!!!) The only hiccup was the ice-cold shower, which felt more like a challenge, especially on a dark winter evening after enjoying the hot pools. But in a way, it added to the adventure! The bonus of having playgrounds, an aviary with peacocks, parrots, and doves, as well as free-range funky chickens, gave the place a unique charm. As a family with three boys, we had over five hours of non-stop fun. If you're looking for a great time, this hot spring pool is a definite winner. We're already planning our next visit!”

“A beautifully appointed property, surrounded by lovely gardens and fun amenities. Our group of 7 adults and 5 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay, swimming in the well maintained pool, jumping on the safe trampoline and exploring the picturesque grounds. There was plenty for the kids to do so the grown ups could relax and enjoy the spacious indoor and outdoor living spaces. “I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My room was nice and tidy, well maintained, comfortable bed, easy access to the motel and lots of parking spaces. The Managers and Staff are also very polite, friendly, approachable and helpful. The best thing about my room was the big spa bath, it was so relaxing and with the jets going made it that much better, I'm about 6'2 and could comfortably lay in there. I will definitely be staying here again as I travel to Hamilton roughly every 12 days to see my two young daughters who also loved the place. If you're looking for an affordable place, tidy facilities, easy parking, comfortable rooms and friendly approachable staff then I'd highly recommend The Alcamo. What a life saver. Cash in the key return box, a powered site for the caravan and we were set for the night and a well earned sleep, before driving the rest of the way home the following day.
