“Only part of the collection as they are earthquake strengthening the building but what they have is amazing. Super knowledgeable and friendly lady gave us a great talk & advice on what to see in town as well. Was amazing to learn what happened during the invasion of Waikato from a Maori perspective instead of the pakeha perspective we learned in school. Sobering and horrifying as well as inspirational at their courage and resilience.”

“Haven’t been for a while but popped in for lunch with a couple of colleagues. The service was great - wait staff were very attentive and pleasant (they actually smiled - you don’t always get that these days). The meals themselves exceeded my expectations, both in flavour and size. There was also no issue with a small meal alteration I had. And I had an almond hot chocolate (which can sometimes be a bit hit-or-miss depending where you go) but it was nice and hot, and absolutely delicious… 10/10”

Good on prices for the huge amount of fun with more to enjoy. When I took the kids we weren't aware of the socks policy but no problem for $2 we could buy a pair. Just pays to do your homework before heading off to places. Prepare, be aware, and play it .safe.”

“The YMCA in Hamilton is a fantastic community hub that offers a wide range of services and facilities, making it one of the best places to stay active and connected in the area. I’ve had the chance to visit a few times, and each experience has been incredibly positive. The gym facilities are excellent, with a wide range of equipment that suits all levels of fitness. Whether you're looking to lift weights, use cardio machines, or take part in group fitness classes, the YMCA has it all. I personally enjoy their group classes, as they’re always led by enthusiastic and supportive instructors who make it easy to stay motivated. From yoga to high-intensity interval training (HIIT), the variety of classes available means you can mix things up and keep your workouts interesting. Beyond fitness, the YMCA in Hamilton is great for families and people of all ages. The swimming pool is another standout feature. It's well-maintained, and I love that it’s suitable for both casual swimmers and those who want to focus on fitness. Plus, there are a variety of programs for kids, including swimming lessons, sports camps, and after-school care, making it an ideal place for families to stay active together. What really stands out to me about the YMCA is the sense of community. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and dedicated to creating a positive environment. Whether you're there for a workout, a swim, or just to enjoy the social aspect, it’s easy to feel at home. Overall, the YMCA in Hamilton is a fantastic place to be. It provides excellent fitness facilities, a wide variety of programs, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it more than just a gym—it’s a community space where people of all ages can come together, get active, and improve their well-being.”
