Had an amazing lunch at **Sugarloaf Beach Bar and Restaurant** in Waiwera! The setting is absolutely stunning, made for a relaxing and picturesque atmosphere. We went as an extended family. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The menu offered a great variety, and everyone found something they loved. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the kids particularly enjoyed their meals (which is always a win for us!). We also appreciated the attention to detail in both the food presentation and the service. The ambiance was perfect for a family outing, feels like a great space for personalised eventsβ laid-back yet stylish. Whether you're looking to enjoy a delicious meal or just soak in the view with a drink, Sugarloaf Beach really has it all. Highly recommend it for a lovely day out in Waiwera! We'll definitely be back!

What a great place to discover. This friendly bar and restaurant about 60 metres from Waiwera beach has the relaxed beach vibe in abundance. Inside there is a restaurant end with about 8 tables, then there is a bar area which opens into a covered outdoor area with pool table and pizza bar with wood fired pizzas. Service was friendly and functional and the business seems to be family run. Food was excellent. Best lamb shank Iβve had in ages with excellent flavours. Prawn salad was also very good. Beer was ice cold and they had a good collection of spirits as well as smoothies and non-alcoholic drinks. I think for me the relaxed atmosphere was what I enjoyed the most - like stepping into some place youβve known all your life and instantly relaxing. Waiwera town feels a bit run down but the history with the hot pools (now closed) is interesting and it has retained its sleepy charm. If youβre going to Wenderholm consider lunch or dinner at Sugarloaf beach bar.

Local vibes, open plan, lovely staffβ¦ but more than a bit shabby. It could use an evolution. The mini-golf is ghosting out back, the service is very relaxed despite a trickle of punters and the offerings in terms of food and drink arenβt what they could be. This is a beautiful location and with a little cash injection it could be really special. Gives me βscrewed over by Covidβ vibes.

Even though some of the comments are negative, often times places change their employees, chefs and try to fix things. This is an example that relying exclusively in bad reviews is a dangerous bias. This place, for us, served very well. Food was amazing, the butter chicken was simply divine. The mix of meat was in a good size. The atmosphere is quite nice and there is an old mini golf course for kids to play (without golf balls though). Pricewise, it was in the average for the quality and service. Worth the trip and money.

A lovely find in a very quiet area. The bar is great. Very quiet when I stopped, but then it is winter season and Thursday lunchtime (early too). Lovely friendly greeting, good service, good beer and a nice burger (but lots of other dishes on the menu too). Worth a try if you're in the area.

If you want average food, bad service and to be ripped off this is the place for you. Went for lunch and ordered 2 salads Mine was supposed to be Moroccan chicken with hummus & a yoghurt dressing. I got dry chicken, no dressing and no hummus. The waitress was young and clueless so I spoke to the manager who said there is no hummus at the moment. I said well why sell something you dont have and where is the yoghurt. Got given yoghurt but he could care less about the hummus, no discount nothing. Must think customers wont notice???!!!!! My husband got the Caesar salad and it was missing the croutons. The clueless waitress didnt know what they were and said that it didn't come with that, menu says it did. So 2 salads missing ingredients. Can cook way better myself Will never go back and looking at all the other bad reviews they wont be there long and dont deserve to be. Shame as its not a bad spot

We ordered 2 scoops of hot chips takeaway which was $8. When my mum picked them up she was nearly charged $10. As you can see from the photo it was extremely disappointing as was so small. I initially thought perhaps they had given us one scoop. I phoned to check & was told no it was $8, 2 scoops. I expressed my disappointment & to be honest disgust that it was $8 worth of take away. We will definitely not be ordering again.
