“Delicious food, generous portion and a very very kind and sincere owner who serves with care, ensuring patrons are comfortable and relaxed in the restaurant. Had dinner there in June 2025 and for 1 hr, I watch the numerous customers who dined in or took out. Service is prompt and considerate. No wonder there were so many customers. Owner even recommended tourist spots and tips for good photos. Service left a lasting impression, hence I had to leave a positive note though was so busy after my last visit as a tourist to Pukekohe. “They have seating available for couples to large groups and it is best to book a table. More of a Thai fusion restaurant, but the flavours are really tasty and presented well. The deep fried whole barramundi and BBQ beef short rib are highly recommended. They also have kids menu and a good selection of cocktails.”

“This place is always busy so recommend you make a booking. The food is tasty and consistently good. And between October and February, you have to regularly go to eat, or just drop in to grab the mango sticky pea flower rice, as the season is limited! Dominion Rd was buzzing, despite no rugby game on at Eden Park and lots of people out which was great to see. Worth a visit :)”

“We ordered Tom Yum Soup and Panang Curry with Rotis for dinner. The Tom Yum soup was delicious, great portion and done to perfection. I found the Panand curry too creamy for my liking, may be that's how it is prepared, the taste was good. Rotis and Satay sauce was very good too. Service was good. The new place on Cuba is lovely. The fan wasn't working so it was a bit smokey but the food made up for it! Overall we loved their food and definitely recommend if you like Thai food.”

“Have experienced super good service here! The staff are always friendly and I’ve often been given a complimentary drink, which is such a nice touch. I usually get delivery or pick-up rather than dining in, and it’s always been super fast and ready when I arrive. Portion sizes are generous, the food is always delicious, and they consistently have great deals available online. I even took my grandparents here once, and now they’re huge Thai fans too! Definitely one of my go-to spots & would highly recommend!”

“Thai Classic has got to be one of the best authentic thai restaurants in Hamilton! I have tried a wide range of their food and it has never disappointed me. Their curries are super flavourful as are the stir fry dishes. The entress are super yummy and all house-made by their head chef. So they taste extra special! The staff are super friendly and inviting and their knowledge about the cuisine is good. The owners are also super lovely people and it was great to go in when collecting my takeaway order, to see all their tables full! They deserve all the hype and business. I will always recommend this place to anyone whos looking for where to go for any celebration, date night or just a delicious takeaway in the comfort of your own home! “I just finished going up mount Eden and was hungry. Found this place nearby. It's a fairly small place. Seats about 25. Nice, subtle decor. Got the steamed duck #38, with coconut rice. I was hoping for thai tea but they had run out. It took about a half hour to be served. I'm going to assume it was made to order, it was that good. Nicely presented in a shaped dish. I recommend Basil Thai, make reservations!”

If you enjoy rice with more than half your bites, order an extra side. The chicken satay skewers were an ok way to start the meal. The real stars were the pineapple dishes! “Twice we came and twice it was amazing! Serving halal asian food. We ate the tom yum noodles, mee goreng with chicken and sticky rice with fried chicken for lunch and dinner. Definitely recommend the Thai milk tea though, it's really special. Boss lady was so sweet, she gave out brownies to all the diners for free since it was Mother's day. Amazing service and food, definitely worth the stop in Christchurch.”
