The food was beautifully presented in such a creative way, and it tasted just as good as it looked. The coffee was outstanding — easily one of the best I’ve had, thanks to the talented barista. A special mention to Sandun De Silva, the owner, for creating such a wonderful place. You can really feel the passion and care that goes into every detail here. Definitely a five-star worthy café — highly recommend to anyone visiting Takapuna!”

“Cafe Tran has a good selection of dishes on offer and at very reasonable prices. Ordered a Steak Burger and Chips ($21.90), which was prepared to perfection. Nothing was oily or overpowering, but just right flavours to compliment the dish. My better half ordered an Eggs Benedict ($19.90) which had very nice flavour and not too small in size.”

Very interesting twist to the standard beef burger, the bulgogi patty gave it a sweeter taste. Missus had the Creamy Mushroom, and says its good. When she says anything is good... “The owner has been serving his local community for years. His fish is cooked properly and the batter is not uncooked dough like many others in REWA and KURA. I can't stand the uncooked dough of the batter, its freaking garbage. However, this has not happened at Rosehill Takeaways that I know off. Others may have a different experience, but as a new customer I wish I had found him earlier. $5 chips can feed 4 adults, and they are tasty. Imagine $10 or $20! His combo deals are fair. The only snag is he has no eftpos and accepts cash only. But, the dairy is more than happy if you buy your drinks from them and get cash to pay for your chips.”

“Mint Leaf is great value and good quality, they give you a larger curry than most places. Lamb Korma is my go to and consistently good. The lady sometimes comes off as a little rude on the phone but it's not her intention (maybe just limited English), they are nice people. For the price and quality, this place really is great value.”
