“We stayed at Pirongia Forest Lodge as a high-school hockey team. The facilities were clean and well set up. The kitchen made cooking for our large group a breeze. The beds were comfortable. Kate, the warden is lovely and very helpful. We enjoyed the facilities and our morning forest walks behind the cabins. The view is spectacular from almost every aspect. Highly recommend taking a large group to stay there. The only draw back was having no Internet connection so we couldn't access our game recordings. But the cell coverage was very good. And they have a great big screen set up for watching films etc.”

The unadorned yet refined aesthetic creates a sense of well-being just strolling through it every day.”

“Hi there, I had a lovely stay at the motel. It was very clean, modern style and very cozy. The staff were friendly and booking easy. The whole venue is going through renovations and is looking great. I would definitely recommend this motel as a comfortable stay.”

“Excellent holiday park with very high-quality facilities: a great pool, a well-equipped shared kitchen, and an excellent barbecue area. The price is on the higher side, but in our opinion the value matched it. Two downsides: there are not many shower/toilet stalls, and there are quite a lot of flies in the evening and at night, which can be bothersome.”

“We parked up in our Motorhome for two nights with our grandchildren aged 4 & 5 enjoyed the pool and playground. The spa were awful, very high chlorine which caused a rash on our skin and they needed to be cleaned and filled up. One was only half full. Facilities were very good, free hot showers. Dump station and rubbish/recycle provided. Easy electronic checkin.”

“We were very impressed with the facilities at Te Aroha campground. We stayed in a campervan on a non powered site. Appreciated the oak trees and the shade they provided on a hot summers day. The pool was fantastic, amazing views out to the mountain. We appreciated the hot spring/mineral hot tub after climbing up mt Te Aroha. Cannot fault this place, if you are looking for great value, great facilities look no further.”

“We had just traveled 7 hours to Auckland to pick up a new caravan and wanted to get as far south before parking up for the night. We stumbled across this place after a Google search in Putaruru. What a life saver. Cash in the key return box, a powered site for the caravan and we were set for the night and a well earned sleep, before driving the rest of the way home the following day. Alot happening here, touch/tag, netball, basket ball, hiking, euchre, table tennis, I saw kite flying also bouncey castles, water sprays keeping those that are brave enough to walk through or push strollers slowly pass, Everything moving smoothly . Something for everyone.”
