   This place is a complete nightmare. After a six-hour drive, we arrived at Beetham Motel only to find a closed reception and a note telling us to check in at Hygate Motel next door. The room was disgusting, but it was too late to find alternative accomodation, the bed smelled like stale urine, and the chemical air freshener they put in the room was so overpowering we had to put it outside. The air conditioning was filthy and full of dust and we woke up feeling sick. The shower was so small it felt like it was made for hobbits and it leaked all over the floor which was made worse by the fact that you have to step down from inside a bath to the floor which is surely a slipping hazard. The place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages, dust everywhere, a leaking vanity, and walls in awful condition. To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off at 9:30 PM with no explanation of whether it was serious or not. We complained first thing in the morning about our horrendous room because we had booked for 2 nights. We were told absolutely no refunds and that we could get a "refurbished" room. The next room was just as bad, with even more filth, with cockroaches on the toilet in the bathroom, dirty aircon, and a light switch so greasy they'd give KFC a run for their money. When we asked for a refund instead of staying the second night, the staff were unhelpful, rude, and said only the manager could offer refunds on Monday and to email them. The whole experience was a nightmare, and we’re now out of pocket with no resolution in sight. It's been almost 3 weeks trying to get a refund and they just refuse. If you pay before checking the room you will NEVER EVER get your money back. This motel should not be in business. It’s an absolute scam, and the service is appalling. DO NOT stay here, save yourself the misery and go anywhere else. Response to owner reponse: Their timeline of events is incorrect and doesn't paint an accurate representation of what happened. They are liar's and will not give a refund no matter the circumstance. Take this quote from an email I received from them "As per our policy, once a room has been occupied and prepared exclusively for a booking, refunds cannot be issued.", that means as soon as you step foot in the room after paying you won't get a refund. Their team did not immediately reclean the original room, second room had cockroaches, third spa room was not a real offer because you can't tell me it was booked in that 10 minute window from offering to acceptance. If you ignore this review and have a bad experience here, you only have yourself to blame. Also for reference, you cannot get a refund through booking.com without the motel approving the request, so as soon as you have paid you either stay there or lose your money.

   Hi there, I had a lovely stay at the motel. It was very clean, modern style and very cozy. The staff were friendly and booking easy. The whole venue is going through renovations and is looking great. I would definitely recommend this motel as a comfortable stay.

   Hamilton was completely booked out, and over 30 phone calls later I was about to give up hope. 8.30pm and needing accomodation after a family member had been helicoptered to the Hospital there. The lovely man at Beetham Park said he had a room available with 3 beds that would fit us. He was very honest and said that currently the motel was being used as WINZ emergency accomodation. He said that the current tenants were respectful and would pose no problem. And if they did, he would be onsite overnight, and we could ring anytime. Didnt fill me with much hope, but I was very grateful for his honesty. Check In was next store at the Hygate Motor Lodge. The lovely gentleman had kept reception open until 10pm for us to check in. Lots of parking, including directly outside the unit. There were a few kids running around screaming outside, among the beaten up, unregistered unwarranted cars. However once inside, we didn't hear anything, including any road noise from the busy main arterial. Room was dated, and probably not as clean as it could have been, with cobwebs and hair. But the beds were comfortable, and the linen spotless. Good water pressure in the shower. Had a Sky Decoder, but could not get the TV to work at all. There seemed to be a cable missing. At $220 for the night, we found it to be SEVERELY overpriced, and probably taking advantage of a booked out city. I mean really, it was a dated room, in a emergency accomodation motel. Far to expensive for the product received. Probably would only give 2 stars, but have decided on 3 stars purely based on the Gentleman at Reception and his honesty and friendliness.

   Clean and bright. Comfy bed for the night. Kitchen and utensils available in your room for preparing your own meals. Easy access to local grocery and simple to get to local shops.

   No heating facility was working. Was irresponsible to check everythings working before they allow someone to move in.Had to spend a whole night in cold. No wifi was available and yet charged us for the wifi. No tables provided to have the food, we had to sit on ground to have our food. No clarity between employers. One said we can check out lately, and then other guy came and asked us to check put immediately. We have been forcefully checked out and was wandering around the city. Very poor hospitality.

   It was a very very homely atmosphere, the t.v and sky box on top of the bed was a hazard for me, it gave me shock when i woke up. I really enjoyed my stay, and would definitely come back again. Thank you.
