Great place to stay for a while. I only booked for one night, but stayed for 2. I felt very relaxed staying here. The facilities were very clean, staff friendly & chatty. I would definitely stay here again. I used a powered camp site.

The reasons for lacking star review is for the following. Lack of accessibility, the ramp to the men's side of the toilet block has pebbles and odd cobble stone at the bottom, and a small 'step' to get on the ramp would mean many wheelchair users would need assistance. For my husband who is legally blind, these pebbles etc make navigation difficult as his cane gets stuck in them. Getting from the park up spot to the toilets is a hazard, the playground next to the toilet block has a drop off the grass also hard for him to negotiate. There was no ramp for the women's side of the block, they could use the men's side as the showers were unisexed. The showers we ok, low pressure. Curtains were not sufficient to stop the entire floor from getting wet. We are aware the weather wouldn't have helped, however the number of pot holes in the gravel driveways also made it hard for hubby to get around. Considering we paid $65 for one night, that would be a quick fix. We stayed the night of the 7th of October 2025. Following night stayed in a penny park up for just $10+$24 for 24 hours of power. Makes the excessive cost of this camp ground sting that bit more. If it had been cheaper we would have stayed a second night. Just to rest up before moving on. Edit: in response to your reply. Your own website says $60 for up to 6 people in a powered camp spot, plus $5 for the dog. With our nzmca discount brought it to $62 total. So I did get my total incorrect as to what I did pay. But if were not a wings member it would have been $65.

We stayed at the park in our caravan. I phoned ahead as we would be arriving after office hours. Our admittance was made easy by booking ahead and using the self service kiosk on arrival. Immaculate facilities with a covered in (removable) tepid heated pool with two heated spa pools outside. Close to town.

The pool water quality was poor. One of my clients developed significant eye irritation, with their eyes turning very red after swimming. Another experienced temporary blurred vision following exposure. A third client accidentally inhaled some pool water, which led to short-term breathing difficulties. These incidents suggest the water may not have been properly treated or maintained.

We parked up in our Motorhome for two nights with our grandchildren aged 4 & 5 enjoyed the pool and playground. The spa were awful, very high chlorine which caused a rash on our skin and they needed to be cleaned and filled up. One was only half full. Facilities were very good, free hot showers. Dump station and rubbish/recycle provided. Easy electronic checkin.

We stayed in the Park House and it was perfect for our stay. The rooms are large, the house is clean, the kitchen really well stocked and there is a heat pump in every room. There was only 4 of us in the end (it can accommodate 11) and the price was good for such a big place.

The camping is located close to a wood factory. And not always quite for that reason. But good enough for a stop over on your way to Aukland. Toilets were clean and the shower as well. But the kitchen didnβt feel clean and a lot of the kitchentools were βout of orderβ. Great pool.

Service is excellent! I failed to book ahead online for kiosk check in so Billy the lovely proprietor of the establishment walked over to check me in. She has a very helpful and cheery disposition. The camp is tidy with piping hot gas powered private showers. There is a media room, BBQ cooking facilities and a common kitchen as well as paid laundry facilities. My partner and I were just in need of an unpowered site to park our van for the night on our travels North. The unpowered βsitesβ arenβt so much sites as they are a patch of grass next to the common areas. The powered sites look much more private and a better value ($2 price difference). There is a heated pool on premise and spa pools are advertised in their amenities. To be honest this is the main reason we chose to pay for a site tonight and not travel to a freedom site or chose a slightly cheaper competitor camp in the area. Unfortunately for us the spa pools were out of commission βΉοΈ. I probably should have called ahead to check. All in all itβs a very clean camp, with a bit of traffic noise from the road. I would prefer if the price of 2 people at a non powered site ($54) was closer to the price they charge for 1 person ($32). This is definitely the priciest spot Iβve parked up for a night in NZ for non powered camping (Iβm sure pricier spots do exist). I reckon they are better known for their motel rooms and powered sites. However, if you want to treat yourself to hot showers, potential swims and lots of amenities they seem like very positive business owners to support anc they run a tight ship!

Avoid this place at all costs! This park is located on a busy bypass road next to the railway line and the sawmill, which operates through the night. The facilities were OK, very run down in parts. Someone cooked a stew one night and left horrible residue in the sink which remained for the next 2 days. The pool and spa were fine, but if I didn't jam my ears with wet toilet paper then the sounds of the trucks, trains and sawmill operations would have kept me up all night and I would've been a walking zombie. I think this place is set up for contractors not holiday makers. Don't stay here, it costs just as much to stay in neighbouring much quieter and more pleasant places.
