“After a lot of campervan research I found the company Rental Car Village, owned and run by the Thomlinson family. I liked them for several reasons: • It is a family owned business which gives you a great and personal service. When I send in a request for more information I received a friendly and personal email from owner Grant Thomlinson. He not only explained their rental procedures very clearly, he also gave great advice about hostels in Christchurch and Auckland and a list of his favorite campsites. • There is no advertising on the vans. When you drive around NZ you see a lot of campervans in all shapes, colors and sizes. What pretty much all of them have in common: they are plastered in big bold advertisements of the rental companies that owns them. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but I really liked it that we blended into normal traffic with our plain white campervan. • Their price is the best offer I have come across in my thorough search. They explain how they keep their prices low in the FAQ on their website and I think it’s awesome they are transparent about their cost structure.”

“Sally was very accommodating after we had to book her bed and breakfast at the last minute and at a late time. The place itself is beautiful, set on beautiful land surrounded by farm animal's and a lovely view. it was so nice that we ended up booking an extra 3 days as me and my husband could not get enough of the view and experience at Gem. Sally also went out of her way to drive me and my Husband to get a rental car the next day. We cant thank Sally enough for her hospitality, kindness and being so very accommodating. we will definitely stay here the next time we come to NZ”

“I had an excellent stay at Pine lake view lodge in a Twin bed studio, room was very clean, beds were made to a high standard and sheets very clean and soft. I slept like a log!! Politeness and manners go a long way in the Mainland and the proprietor was equally friendly and welcoming considering I booked through a third party quite late the same night even after he'd closed the office. I'd most definitely stay here again!! Cheers for a most pleasant stay”

“Absolutely stunning place to stay the view is what makes this place amazing!! Friendly and helpful people. Nice and warm room with everything U need including a washing machine. Cool little balcony to enjoy the warm sun or a nice meal. Lots of little walk tracks to walk down to the beach. I do recommend ringing before you get there to get directions to the property. Steep hills being diamond Harbour. Well worth the drive. Thanks heaps”
