“We have been a frequent customer at Zac’s Pizza, mostly ordering takeouts, but we decided to stop by for a dinner this time, and it did not disappoint! We started with the cocktail shrimp, which came in a generous portion and was absolutely delicious. The salad was fresh and vibrant, complemented by a unique and flavourful special ingredient sauce that really set it apart. For the main course, I had the steak, and it was everything I hoped for—tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked, with a rich and savory mushroom sauce. The service was excellent, and despite the restaurant being busy, we only had to wait around 20 minutes for our food. The staff here are always so friendly, with a smile on their faces, making us feel right at home. Plus, there’s plenty of parking out front, which makes everything even more convenient. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”

“We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon and the vibe was great. A live band was playing good tunes, not so loud that you couldn't enjoy a good yarn with your mates, and the staff were courteous and friendly. We arrived when it was very busy so the wait time for a cooked meal from the menu was an hour so keep that in mind if visiting when busy. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and look forward to stopping in again over summer.”

“After a refurbishment and challenging times due to never ending road works, Ambler reopened recently, much to the delight of the neighbourhood. “I only order salmon and avocado sushi. Came here for the first time 2 days ago and the workers were very friendly and accommodated my request for a newly made pack of sushi without the wasabi and ginger in it (allergies). They did not hesitate to make a new pack and they smiled and were attentive to me and other customers the whole time. The sushi itself contained a lot of salmon compared to St Pierre's. I will definitely be back.”

The food was beautifully presented in such a creative way, and it tasted just as good as it looked. The coffee was outstanding — easily one of the best I’ve had, thanks to the talented barista. A special mention to Sandun De Silva, the owner, for creating such a wonderful place. You can really feel the passion and care that goes into every detail here. Definitely a five-star worthy café — highly recommend to anyone visiting Takapuna!”

“Cafe Tran has a good selection of dishes on offer and at very reasonable prices. Ordered a Steak Burger and Chips ($21.90), which was prepared to perfection. Nothing was oily or overpowering, but just right flavours to compliment the dish. My better half ordered an Eggs Benedict ($19.90) which had very nice flavour and not too small in size.”

Very interesting twist to the standard beef burger, the bulgogi patty gave it a sweeter taste. Missus had the Creamy Mushroom, and says its good. When she says anything is good...
