“The atmosphere and customer service at this place was amazing. We sat outside and it was steady in terms of customers. A friend and I attended for afternoon cocktails and dinner and the food was absolutely sensational. We ordered the olives, the bread with burrata, the lamb and the beef and honestly the amount of food for the quality and taste of the food was unmatched. The service was quick - polite - all round a great experience. Will be going back again soon for sure!!!”

“This place is so homely. The soup is our favourite. We’ve had 5 different soups at 5 different occasions and they have not failed. Good for groups and date night (not really a romantic place but we love the food)”

“They have the best vegetarian sushi with many different tasty options. You can choose from the wide variety in the cabinet (which they are happy to make fresh if run out) or buy from an even wider variety of delicious hot food made to order; bento boxes, donburi, tempura etc. Can sit in or takeaway. They always have miso soup to order too. Best service, very welcoming and lovely. Highly recommend! My favourite sushi shop.”

“Haven't had decent Chinese since The Flying Horse Chinese in Takapuna. First time and Wow everything was fabulous. Great taking the order on the phone! We had wontons & dumplings that were huge and full of meat with a decent tub of sauce! Fried rice, S&S Pork, Chicken CM very tasty and great servings. Definitely coming again!! Well done!”

“Cafe Tran has a good selection of dishes on offer and at very reasonable prices. Ordered a Steak Burger and Chips ($21.90), which was prepared to perfection. Nothing was oily or overpowering, but just right flavours to compliment the dish. My better half ordered an Eggs Benedict ($19.90) which had very nice flavour and not too small in size.”

“Lovely place we never been to before. I have to say we left quite impressed, bellies very full and satisfied. Very interesting twist to the standard beef burger, the bulgogi patty gave it a sweeter taste. Missus had the Creamy Mushroom, and says its good. When she says anything is good... “Such an unexpected gem! Very impressed from our first visit. The beef sukiyaki nabe was amazing and flavourful - haven't eaten a proper sukiyaki in a long time! The kaarage chicken was also fantastic, with two amazing sauces. Overall an amazing Japanese kitchen with great menu variety. Will be coming back for sure.”

“The food here comes fast and piping hot fresh. The service is always friendly. I've had several of their dishes and the tempura that comes with the bento is also cooked to perfection. The teriyaki chicken feels home cooked with the correct ratio. We are regulars here at lunch because the prices are just right.”
