Just popped into the Northlands store to look at replacement options for my aging and worn Salomon XA Pro trail shoes, following 10 min foot and video gait assessment by Nick and trying 3 styles, I walked out with a pair of Mizuno Wave Daichi which will work nicely for my odd feet. Thanks for the great peronalised service!
Sad to say not a good experience during my visit, questions weren’t answered right from the start, and incorrect shoes offered, it started off with Simon not being able to find the shoe which I found myself on the wall while they were at back, vague answers and descriptions about the shoes given were very generic, while reviewing the recording of how I walk, had to stop a-few times while other staff took their recordings and then leave that station early with unanswered questions and brushed aside, shoes bought out and once tried on knew something was wrong, I checked the box they were women’s shoes not men’s, found out I was offered the wrong size even after the staff had taken my measurements, I also wasn’t given the option to try wider ones or a size higher as I asked about. Wanted to compare with trail shoes as well but just got told “they got none” that’s all. Shoes not in the colour I wanted but staff still pressured me to get them, they did check their other store. I had to order the shoes I wanted based on their assessment of the ones I needed but left the store uncomfortable about paying and ordering shoes that I wanted with the limited options I was given. 1/2 hr came in with the perfect size shoes, width and colour I’d purchased from another store that had a better assessment and took the time to listen and answer questions I needed and to tell them and I didn’t need to order from them.
Have to give a 5/5 star for Simon who is relatively new to this career which he openly acknowledged but throughout my experience he consulted, listened and provided me with the correct shoe based on my Podiatrist’s recommendation. While the shoe purchase experience can seem like a production line, Simon was very engaging and I have to say was a great representative of Shoe Clinic, a business I have been going to for many years but not consistently. He may well have changed that but in the meantime I left a very satisfied customer.
Wow! What an experience! I thought service delivery is dead but not at this shop. I loved one of the shoes and I had Paris, one of the shop representative whom assisted me greatly to fit me in the right size. I wasn't sure if I should get them now or later, Paris offered me to place them on hold for 7 days. I provided my contact details and I decided to go purchase them a few days late. I had the pleasure to be serviced by a gentleman named "Nick G" Nick was fantastic, professional, Great presentation, Vast knowledge, clear communication. This team has gone above and beyond! Will be doing my shoe shopping at your store from now!
