New, tidy place easy walking down to restaurants and bars. Quiet with a decent view of the sea. Room is small, especially bathroom, but excellent for a night or two
Excellent position with close proximity to Devonport St, and the dining options on the Strand. Some harbour views, professionally cleaned room, and amenities. Quality condiments, and bathroom accessories in the room. Excellent service and quality accommodation. I highly recommend and will definitely return when we're on holidays from Brisbane.
We stayed for 4 nights September - October 2025. Fantastic service at the end of a long day traveling to get us settled in our room - despite an 8pm arrival. Room was clean, well equipped with coffee/tea - and milk in the fridge, and easily accommodated our luggage despite being a 'smaller' unit. The bathroom was clean and well supplied with quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and body lotion. The bed was very comfortable. The wifi worked well and the TV provided lots of options. The location is super convenient for Tauranga - Grindz cafe was just the other side of Devonport on 1st and was a good breakfast option. The restaurants on The Strand great for dinner. Will be back whenever we need a stay again for sure.
Stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting the area, and despite booking relatively last minute, was more than glad that I chose CitySide! Room/bathroom was clean and tidy, bed very comfortable, had quiet nights sleep. In room facilities were plenty too, a nice selection of hot beverages to choose from. Bathroom well designed, toiletries were of high quality and smelt lovely. Location of hotel great too; just a short walk to restaurants and bars. Didn't end up using the guest laundry area, but it looked clean and easy to use and was nice to have the option of this. Hotel staff were friendly and check-in/out were both easy, as was parking up outside.

Amazing place to stay! Clean, stylish and walking distance to everything in Tauranga city. The ev chargers are a bonus too! Definitely staying here again. Host Simon and his team are lovely too.
Everything was perfect from the room to the service and especially the communication. Will definitely be back.
