   Small, intimate with friendly attentive staff. Excellent short menu with select wines. We had banquet of 6 varied delicious courses that we could not finish completely. All superbly cooked & presented. Definitely come back next time. Very impressed.

   We were warmly greeted on arrival and this set the tone for the rest of the evening. The food was outstanding, we shared 4 plates - the asparagus, the venison tataki, the lamb and the potatoes. Each plate was generous and beautifully presented. There was obviously a lot of love and care taking place in the kitchen, and we certainly benefitted! Overall a 5 star experience.

   Chef Alex & Campbell in the front of house teamed up to deliver one of the best experiences in my month-long visit from San Francisco. Gatherings is in what appears to be an emerging culinary hot spot at the corner of Victoria & Bealey, an easy 25’ walk or quick Uber ride from the CBD, & the just-picked produce (asparagus & radish/lettuce salad) & perfectly executed mains (crumbed Poaka pork chop w/ a wonderful mustard butter sauce) & dessert (crème caramel taken to the next level with a crispy clove/lemon biscuit) made for a terrific value, reminiscent of Delfina or State Bird in SF. Hope to be back on a future visit, after they’ve grabbed a star to match their hat :-)

   I live overseas and have been following Gatherings on IG for a long time, so I was super excited when I finally got the opportunity to eat here. I knew the food was going to be good, but man, was I blown away. The food is thoughtful and considered. Every dish feels intentional and beautifully executed. The menu focuses on seasonality. Proteins are responsibly sourced and vegetables are mostly organic. This isn't just about eating, it's about experiencing food in a way that makes you pause and appreciate it. The wine list champions minimal intervention producers with a focus on organic viticulture. It's interesting, it's different, and it's as thoughtful as the food. This is the kind of restaurant where you need to come in with an open mind. If you allow yourself to embrace what they're creating, you'll walk away with something far more memorable than a standard meal out.

   This is a small intimate restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. It just feels cosy. It’s nice and quiet too so you can enjoy talking. The service was great all the way through. They explained the menu very well. Our starter was delicious. Endive with a lovely Thai inspired dish to fill it up with crispy tofu. Wonderful. Next was cabbage, capers, prosciutto and bread crumb. Also top notch. Chicken roulade for main also did not disappoint. All finished with a wonderful orange upside down cake with crème vanilla custard. My partner wanted to order another dessert because it was so good. But I stopped her because we were already full. Had a couple of nice drinks too. And the wonderful chef, Harry came out to check on us too. We went for the three course option plus an extra starter. The meals were a perfect size. All in all a wonderful evening. Great food, service and a classy, yet restrained ambience. Look forward to eating there again!

   Amazing food here at Gatherings. The Let us Feed you option was so plentiful and meant we could all indulge in so many different things. The fish, the celery, clams and asparagus were my favourites and the bread with the garlic was sensational. All the wines are natural which I enjoyed trying- not sure I am converted but it’s good to open your mind to doing something new. The only little disappointment was we were rushed at the end. If you are only really finishing your mains with 10 mins left for dessert, that doesn’t give you reasonable time. I think on a Friday/Saturday night a minimum two hours should be given especially with a “feed us” option as one of the offerings. The staff were apologetic about it though and it won’t stop me from going back but I would probably book a later table to avoid it from happening. We managed to get into Londo next door to have more drinks so the night finished off well.

   Had the chef's selection, all the dishes were exquisite with a lot of depth in flavour. The star dishes were the flounder and the flatbread, the tamarillo and stracciacella was unquie and interesting. Look forward to trying their summer menu.

   We were happy that we managed to book a place in this tiny and saught-after place. The fish and titi were special and delicious. The only issue is that the bookings are limited to 1.5 and we got our food after 45 minutes. We felt the time pressure, which is not something that you necessary want with an experience of this sort.

   Went for the 'Feed Me' option which is $68 per person. It was a delightful experience and very reasonably priced - every dish was delicious and innovative! I could really tell that the chef was passionate about each dish served. The crispy eggplants with the butter curry sauce was my favourite and blew my mind with the taste. Staff were also welcoming and knowledgeable. Very pleasant experience that I highly recommend

   Gatherings restaurant fits very well with our philosophy of fresh, local food for sharing. The restaurant is small and intimate. The food is high-end but affordable and the vibe is super relaxed. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and they tell you everything about each dish. The wine selection is amazing and they go out of their way to source natural and local wines and spirits.
