   Lovely friendly staff excellent food, we had beef pattie burger the brioche bun was toasted to perfection seasoned well with just the right amount of trimmings. Also had the warm brownie to follow all in all a delightful meal with warm friendly atmosphere.

   Szimpla restaurant I have to give a five star review to this restaurant. We came to NZ for a fishing adventure up north booked into the Ibis motel a night in and a night out and this restaurant was terrific for breakfast and dinners. Staff were awesome. Easy to deal with very helpful. On our way back we had a Haul of fish and asked them if they would prepare it for us to eat as we could not take it back home to Oz they did an amazing job. We left it to the Chef to prepare what he thought was suitable. And he prepared 5 dishes with the amount of Seabass we gave him. Excellent food. We were 8 hungry men. They treated us like Kings which is really good on a kingfish expedition. Would recommend them any time. Cheers.

   Outdoor area was lovely and parking right outside so easily accessible however that was really the only thing that was good about this place. Our first time here and sadly will be our last. We were a group of about 8 and every person ordering different meals and we all had issues. Most of the food tastes like it’s from the supermarket or you could’ve just made better yourself at home. The sharing platter for two is definitely not enough to eat for 2 people. We literally got less than 10 chips in a small bowl. Same with the coleslaw, 4 tiny pieces of dry pork belly, about 5 or 6 chicken nibbles and 4 tiny little ribs. All for $70 - All the meat was dry. One of this chicken dishes was literally just a chicken leg served with a gross hollandaise tasting sauce and dry mashed potato. One of our group ordered a scotch fillet and was given a sirloin with a runny sauce. Lamb pizza looked and tasted like a Pizza Hut or dominoes pizza with a some feta sprinkled on top. We are all very non picky eaters and every one of us had issues. Most of us never turning dessert down either and we were that put off by the food we didn’t even order dessert. The two of our group who did said they tasted worse than the stuff you buy from the supermarket. The wait staff were okay. We were also charged for a dessert and hot drinks we didn’t purchase so had to ask for that to be taken off our bill. Overall really below average experience and for the prices being charged the chef and menu should definitely be looked into. The platter looks better in my picture than it was, don’t be fooled. Lol Would not recommend.

   Came for coffee & a scone. Nice, clean & tidy place, could do with more lighting it's a bit dark. Nicely surprised with receiving two freshly made scones that were fluffy & warm, homemade jam was delish as was the whipped cream, would have been nice to also have butter not enough jam & cream for two scones as well as having a choice with solely butter. Unfortunately the caramel latte was too sweet & watery. Wasn't a very friendly welcome, infact very little was said apart from having to repeat two large caramel lattes & two scones, several times. This is one of those moments when first impressions really do matter, it's the do or die of a customer returning & in this instance, it is the latter.

   We had a great night here! We were welcomed and seated. The service was brilliant. Very attentive and so friendly. The food was fresh, hot and delicious! What a great atmosphere and decor - would definitely go again on my way to a flight.

   My wife and I were staying next door at the Ibis Motel. We decided to go next door to the Szimpla Bar. 1st thing we noticed was the relaxed atmosphere, not overdone but really tasteful. Waitstaff were great and so was the beer. I had the Salmon, the plate was very upmarket looking and tasted great. Wife had the pork belly but couldn't eat it all so I cleaned up. I don't usually like bread desserts but this one was awesome. Thanks again guys. Had a really nice time. Would highly recommend.

   Food was amazing, waiting staff were quick to take our drinks and dinner order. Food came out super fast. Dessert was quite a wait, and very loud in the restaurant. Very pleasant experience overall
