“Could not recommend Heretaunga daycare centre enough!!! When I was employed after maternity leave at short notice, we needed a daycare urgently for our son. I reached out to Heretaunga and they were so warm and welcoming and willing to take my son at just a few weeks notice. Now a year on, we love the centre and all the teachers that make it such a great place. 5 stars easy ⭐️”

NELC is community-run, which means whānau have a real voice in how things work. It creates a strong sense of belonging and connection — we’re not just part of a centre, we’re part of a community. “KinderCare Kilbirnie has been the best daycare for my precious little first born. I was so nervous about finding the right place for my little boy who was 20 months when he joined KinderCare. I will always be grateful to them for offering me a place when they did. I was blown away by how friendly, caring and attentive everyone is. From Shelly at reception to Varsha who makes all the nutritious food to all the teachers - they know all the children’s and parents’ names even though they are quite a big centre, and we always get a warm welcome every morning. The teachers, especially Oliver, Ella and Abbie who my son talks about daily, were so great at helping my little boy (and me!) settle into daycare. I can see the teachers genuinely care about all the kids and are really good at responding to the individual needs and concerns for each child, including how their naps are going and even toilet training. There is a huge outdoor space for the kids to run around as well as focused activities indoors. They are really great at organising events for parents and grandparents too and really nurture family values and respecting all the different cultures. When new ECE policies come in, they do all the heavy lifting for us. I would really recommend KinderCare Kilbirnie for the care, support and attention they provide families (not just the child).”

“I have had the privilege of both of my children attending Montessori Children's House for their preschool years (3-6). Both children left Montessori for primary school with amazing foundations in reading, writing and maths. Not only this, but the environment and opportunities that Montessori provides to be creative, sporty and to explore nature and science, has been instrumental in allowing my children to become well rounded and ready for the world. The facilities are fantastic and the teaching team and management are supportive, kind and caring. The children and I found it very difficult to leave when it came time for primary school.”

They show genuine interest in helping our little one settle in and have made an enormous effort to help us as parents settle in by introducing us to other parents. They have good values and a good structure. Nice mix between outside and inside - a good set up. Highly recommend. It is so nice to see our son happy to go to kindy so early on in his time there.”

“Tuatara Kids has been such a friendly and supportive childcare centre. We came from a much larger centre which was more chaotic and busy. Coming into Tuatara was such a breath of fresh air, the kids are noticeably happy and have a lot of fun together. The kaiako are so warm and welcoming and we have always had a seamless experience with the administrative side of things. Because it’s a smaller centre there’s a really nice community feel to it and we’ve gotten to know a lot of lovely families through our child’s friends at TK. Can’t rate highly enough!”

“I would like to say again what a wonderful place our twins visit every day. There is an ecological, harmless environment both inside the classroom and outside. We are delighted with the amazing variety of materials, toys, and pictures that are so interesting for children of their age. All of these promote the curiosity and imagination of our kids. They can touch, use, and play with everything, conducting different experiments with some of the items. I am amazed by the engaging activities offered to the children, such as painting with and without a paintbrush, dressing up, science experiments, Olympic games, and pretend play. For example, today you can be a caring mother for your doll, and tomorrow you might participate in a scientific experiment. One of the wonderful traditions of the center is visiting various public places where adults work, such as libraries and ambulance stations. These excursions are extremely exciting for the children, broadening their horizons and helping them understand how life around them is organized. I especially want to highlight the teachers, Gitika and Jaimee, to whom my children are very attached! I see their caring and attentive glances directed at our kids. I feel how these specialists, with great love for each child, manage and organize all activities, using their knowledge of child psychology at this age. I feel how they create an environment and activities that help develop each child’s abilities. These kind ladies carefully monitor the development of each child and sincerely rejoice in their successes. From time to time, we receive reports about our children's lives and achievements. These include wonderful photos of our beloved children during their activities, accompanied by warm words of joy, heartfelt admiration, support, and inspiration. It is incredibly touching that these letters are addressed to the child! This is a brilliant idea! We will save all the letters and read and reread them with our children! A big thank you to our administrators, Liz and Nakita, who notify us in advance and politely remind us so that we, the parents, don’t forget things in the daily rush. Our cook, Liz, does an incredible job preparing hot, delicious, and healthy breakfasts and lunches for the children, and we are very grateful to her for this! Thank you so much for your love and care for our children. This is the best place for them, truly a gem in the heart of our city!”
