“Had a wonderful meal here at Joyful Chinese Restaurant. The staff were attentive and provided excellent service, and the dining area is well kept and comfortable. The menu had a large range of choice and we found the food to be authentic and really tasty. In particular, our vegetable dishes were superb, perfectly cooked, not oily, nicely seasoned and beautifully presented. The restaurant has been going for 27 years. Also a decent place for yum cha. Booking is recommended as it can get busy. Some dishes are excessively salty however.”

“One of my fave Chinese Restaurants. The manger has the best service. The food is delicious. Except some dishes’ portions a little bit small for the price. The price is a little expensive but definitely worth. Black Pepper Diced Beef with Pleurotus Erygnii and Yeung Chow Fried Rice are my favourite. Kimchi is their recent new dish. It has cabbage, apple, orange and ginger. Very refreshing as an appetiser. The interior is very nice too.”

“I can only rate the bar and the meal, as we didn't stay at their accommodation. Although the restaurant was closed, we were able to order at the bar. The bar was very busy, but the staff took our order and brought our drinks promptly to us. We both ordered the chicken parmigiana and were very happy with it. The serving size was more than enough, and we felt the wait really wasn't that long at all, especially considering how busy they were. I'd be happy to return again the next time I'm in Auckland.”

It was quite busy when we went and the gentleman at front of house, seated us, took our order, delivered our meal and cleared the table. He did this both indoor and outdoor. “This restaurant have an all you can eat concept, but you have to pay in advance before you can eat. Take whatever you want and you have to scale the pot on the cashier. You can choose the spiciness levels. As an ✨certified Asian✨, I choose very hot. After that, the staffs will cook your choice. Once it's done, the staff will bring your food the the table. Bowl was very big! Yeah, it was delicious and satisfying!”

“Lived down the road from this place for nearly 2 years and finally decided to try it a few weeks ago. Came again tonight and was still as good as the last visit - best Thai food in town for sure! The servings were super generous and very well priced, in fact I was very pleasantly surprised at the amount of seafood in our dishes too! The food also came out very quick even though they seemed quite busy. The staff were very friendly - especially the Thai girl who was especially pro! We have definitely added this place to our frequent visit list.”
