   Experienced bartender and well versed on new cocktails. All staff very friendly. Portions are generous. We split the fish and chips with more than enough for two. Everything on the menu looked good, we had the duck as a starter and excellent. Not sure why this place only gets a 3.8 rating, our experience was much better. Seating with views of the bay are beautiful.

   Just been to this restaurant for a high tea (Pre paid with our booking) with three others. The staff/chef managed to get the dietary requirements wrong for two of our party. Staff were unable to sort this out and then when we suggested a free drink all round they said no. The high tea was not worth the money we paid - all heated up up processed food ( and randomly one heated up mince pie on the plate for my vegetarian friend!) and not much of it. Will not be repeating this experience anytime soon ( And I suggest the high tea is removed from your menu as this definitely was not a high tea!) Very disappointed

   This was a lovely experience from the moment we arrived. We were warmly greeted, given a table with a superb view, and treated to a free glass of bubbly to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious - beautifully presented and very fresh. The staff were great - friendly, welcoming and responsive. Our waiter made an excellent wine recommendation. We'd definitely come back.

   I have always enjoyed my experience of High Tea at Halo and have visited many times for special occasions with family and friends. However, I was bitterly disappointed yesterday. On arrival we were told we could not sit outside which was obviously a sign of things to come! One chunky club sandwich using dry bread, tiny overcooked scone, although there was lashings of cream and jam and three small savouries . Two chocolate items each on second tier. A few small items on top tier. I don't know if they are under new management but food presentation needs to revert to its original high standard. I will certainly be changing my venue.

   My wife and I and our son dined to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Entree’s were fine. The mains were not. My main was described as snapper on a prawn risotto with Scallops and spicy pickled carrot. I was served Salmon because they had run out of Snapper but didn’t have the decency to tell me and give me the option of ordering something else. The carrot was raw and not pickled or spicy. My wife’s steak was ordered to be rare - it was blue. My sons steak was ordered to be medium - it was well done. I am really disappointed - a night spoiled - the restaurant offered no real apology.

   Shared High Tea with a group of people for a special occasion. The service was extremely poor beginning with a lack of introduction. A tray of full wine glasses being spilled by the trainee waitress resulted in me being doused in wine which I then cleaned up from myself and the floor. I had to ask for the napkins I had used to be replaced and the soiled ones to be removed. Our tea was served lukewarm. A new bottle of bubbles was delivered and placed in the ice bucket unopened. When we left the table, leaving handbags on the chairs, while we took photos the table was begun to be cleared and a full glass of bubbles was removed. Overall we were very disappointed. Perhaps worst of all, an email I have sent to management regarding my complaint has not been acknowledged. I won't be recommending Halo restaurant to anyone. P.S. The food was acceptable although not exceptional.
