“Visited for a particular exhibit "The Secret Keeper" artist Catherine Daniels a truly beautiful soul. The exhibit is haunting gorgeousness had me in tears. The venue is a beautiful building amoung Napiers older classics, its pretty inside and out.”
On the plate at Tu-meke DON, the idea is simple, bistro-style and well executed. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Plates offer plenty without tipping heavy. A sensible spend for the quality.
“The Coffee & date walnut cake are good! The owner is so nice&friendly!”
“One of our favourite places to go in Napier! My 3 year old loves walking by the beach, even more playing with the different playgrounds on site and of course the ice cream near by!”
“I wish we had a bakery like this closer to home. Lots of choices, whether you are after sweet or savoury. It was hard to make a decision. The coffee is good too. If ever back in the area, will definitely make this a necessary stop”
“Absolutely amazing place for tattoos. Got my first one 3 months ago and went back last week to complete the tattoo, plus add another to it. Trent is amazing and patient. The work is outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend.”
“All my years living in Napier, I have never been. Tonight my daughter took me along after she had been on a school trip. I was blown away! Absolutely loved my time there. What an experience. When they re open, I will be sure to take my grandchildren along for the experience. Thank you!”
“Nothing better than hanging out at the swings with a group of friends at lunch. The playground is fairly well equipped, and the pond next to the library is lovely, featuring large trees and some ducks. As for the main field itself, it's well maintained, and a decent size. Perfect for a variety of sports, or a nice picnic.”
“A beautiful place to stroll around. Lovely flowers & waterfall so very pretty”
The kitchen at Mamacita Napier takes a classic fish-and-chips path and lets the food speak. Portions suit sharing without losing balance. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Orders move at a steady clip.
“Kia ora. I went to Awa Ink through the recommendation of a friend and work colleague. I was born in Melbourne, Australia, and have lived full time in New Zealand since 1997. I have a number of old skool type tattoos which I had done during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The only tattoo that meant anything to me is my daughter's name on a ribbon and love heart type design. I really wanted something new that tells my story and truly means something to me. Tawhiri absolutely exceeded my expectations with a beautiful Tā moko telling my story along with my daughter's name and the name of my mokopuna. I requested the Southern Cross be included as I was born under this constellation and is featured on the Australian flag where I was born and the New Zealand flag where I have lived for close to 30 years. I also have a connection to Samoa through a very close friend which also features the Southern Cross on its flag. My overall experience with Tawhiri at Awa Ink absolutely exceeded my expectations. Thank you Tawhiri. Ngā mihi nui”
“A lovely quite place to stay. Really friendly owners.”
“Amazing, it looks beautiful and Arkay was super fun, made the whole process really easy for a first tattoo. Thank you so much!”
