“Great place to stop over for a break and have a meal. Neat little cafe near the river and it's next to the playground so the kids can play too. Plenty of seating inside and out. You can order cooked food from the menu or from the cabinet. Quality and tasty food. They have a small selection for Kids meals”

“First time there and I will definitely be back! Food was great, had the big breakfast and it was delicious! Loved the peas on the side. Coffee is great and make sure you get a price of the ginger crunch slice to take home, it’s topped with pistachios and crystallised ginger and it’s to die for. Good service, our whole table was happy. Chicken tacos looked awesome!”

“The Bakehouse is a great family business and a supportive member of our local community. Fabulous food and coffee!”
“Very unimpressed with the gradual but consistent decline of the quality of food from this bakery. Pies have almost got no filling in them. Club sandwiches lacking consistency . Too lazy to even put a slice of bread in to separate the two sandwiches, when approached about this she admitted it and re wrapped it and put back in. Just because they have rebranded as Te Kowhai Cafe, does not make them anybetter than the original. Give them a miss , if you want to try a amazing bakery. Head down to last roundabout towards wintec, truckstop Cafe.. absolutely amazing food everything.. consistently.”
“Phoned to see if they were playing the Warriors and Candice who answered the phone had an amazing welcoming voice so we called in and had such a fun time watching the Warriors even though we lost. Sandra was also very welcoming. Great fun and relaxing enjoyable atmosphere with the locals. Will definitely be back. Thank you all. See you next time”
“Coffee here is very good. Been here often and have never had a bad one. If you get a chance, go to this place, it's worth the money.”
