There is also a playground. There is a police station at the intersection. Always lock your car and don't show any valuables.”

“Roberta Reserve is a hidden gem tucked away in Glendowie. It’s peaceful, open, and has such a calm vibe—perfect for families, dog walks, or just taking a moment to breathe. The reserve runs alongside the water with beautiful views, especially at sunrise or sunset. There’s a great little playground for kids, plenty of space to kick a ball around, and shady spots to relax under. It’s never too crowded, and the mix of native trees, birdlife, and open space makes it feel like a proper local retreat. Definitely one of those underrated neighbourhood spots you feel lucky to know about.”

Lotsa trails that meander and undulates with streams, bridges and staircases that break up the monotony to select from depending on your capability and endurance, kids playgrounds are lovely and fun! Yes, even for adults. Haha. Lovely cafe and public swimming pool. Definitely a must go. Just remember to clean up as you go and leave no trace of whatever you ate or drank.”

“I grew up around this place - used to have a paper round that passed by it (back when it was surrounded by fields) and I still like to pop back and visit on occasion. Though it always seems smaller than I remember. There are some great bush walks, a nice picnic area, and in the summer, swimming pools.”

“Having enjoyed the magnificent views at sunrise today, 16/2/2024, we are so blessed to start our beautiful day off every Friday. At around 6:50am, the Sun rose gradually above the sea level. We stood on the grass which was a bit wet and watched the sunrise peacefully and gracefully. There were not many people there at that time, apart from a few joggers who do their daily jog along the trail. We enjoyed our packed breakfast and homemade coffee in our car with the amazing sunrise picturesque view. We highly recommend you to watch sunrise there if you live near Bucklands Beach or Half Moon Bay in East Auckland.”

The playground itself is well-equipped and provides plenty of fun for kids of all ages, making it an ideal spot for an active day out. It's set in a lovely location, perfect for enjoying the outdoors. While the public toilets aren't the best, it's good to know they are available on site. “This is the best store if you want knowledgeable advice and great customer service. I first came here about 8 months ago and I was lucky to meet Marco there who spent a considerable amount of time with me, listening and giving me advice. The shoes I bought there are still my favourite and I keep coming back here for more. I honestly think that the experience helped me to become a successful runner. The store can get busy but it is because they truly care about the customers and won't try to rush you or be pushy. Athlete's Foot has the best sales among all the sports shoe stores, which is important for me because shoes can get really expensive. If you are a Parkrunner, you get extra discount too. Whenever I come here, I feel that the store's goal is not to sell me something expensive and see me out, but to keep me coming back. Great job!”

“Had my daughter’s 3rd Birthday here and it was honestly so incredible. Ryan and his team communicated everything so well, from the party room, to the decorations to what kind of food we wanted. The actual playground is clean and tidy and the viewing space for adults is big! You don’t feel crowded at all. We have gone to other indoor playgrounds before and the space is so cramped and uncomfortable! They have such a huge range of party decorations and themes and add on options for the parties it really is a one stop shop!! Will definitely be recommending this to all my Mummy friends and will be back to celebrate more of my kids birthdays! Thank you Ryan and Team!”

“Auckland Zoo is an easy standout. The staff and volunteers are genuinely friendly and make the whole place feel welcoming. The animals look well cared for and the habitats are clean and well maintained. Plenty to keep the kids entertained with lots of space to explore and learn. Also, the coffee at the front cafe is surprisingly good which is always a win. A smooth, enjoyable visit from start to finish. Great place for families. Parking was closed due to renovations, so we had to park near MOTAT. Nice walk through the park though.”

There is a lot of plants and trees and open space, saw a couple of rainbow lorikeets which was pretty cool. The only thing they need is a dog bowl connected to the water fountain. Apart from that it's great.”
