“Love this park. My kids love it because my daughter and I get to do our little exercise rounds and also my son gets to play at the playground and his favourite the flying fox that's there too.”
“Good view of Lake Pupuke and clean public toilets . Good place to have a family Barbie.”
“Green Bastion amongst suburbia. Great general walking area for dogs, kids and family. Complete with cows”
“Beautiful place. Plenty of tracks, hidden gems. Bit of mud this time of year so wear sneakers.”
“First time visit and I will return, great arts centre, well laid out with some great options. They also run various art classes throughout the year, I highly recommend a visit.”
“A lovely well managed little community centre with different size rooms for hire and many community and business activities.”
“Such a fantastic building with tons of culture. A cozy theatre just big enough for the medium sized event. While awaiting the upcoming performance the theater itself gives so much to look at and admire. Parking building around the corner but tight streets, may suggest Uber to your event.”
“Good facilities , it operates well for the community with interesting events and close to Devonport”

“Nicely renovated community centre for 50-75 people . Not enough parking though. Well designed kitchen. Neat and clean.”
“Friendly, accommodating staff. Just the basic rooms for use, parking, kitchen, toilet but clean and functional. I teach hand drumming there Fridays 10 - 11.30 am.”
“Impressive complex. The Surf Club should be allowed to serve meals if they so wish. The local cafe doesn't operate after 5pm & shouldn't have the monopoly on this busy beach area. There are enough customers to share.”
“This park is always clean and well maintained. Though its not a main park its always looking like one. Great area for kids to play. Maybe have a sunsade somewhere? Thats a bit to ask but wont know unless you ask.”
“We really enjoyed this playground. There are things for all ages to do”
“After weeks of waiting, was left hanging by another supplier. Ordered off LizzyLove and received less than 36 hours later. Great service!!”
“This is the best store if you want knowledgeable advice and great customer service. I first came here about 8 months ago and I was lucky to meet Marco there who spent a considerable amount of time with me, listening and giving me advice. The shoes I bought there are still my favourite and I keep coming back here for more. I honestly think that the experience helped me to become a successful runner. The store can get busy but it is because they truly care about the customers and won't try to rush you or be pushy. Athlete's Foot has the best sales among all the sports shoe stores, which is important for me because shoes can get really expensive. If you are a Parkrunner, you get extra discount too. Whenever I come here, I feel that the store's goal is not to sell me something expensive and see me out, but to keep me coming back. Great job!”
“Monarch Park is a picturesque park that combines natural beauty with excellent amenities. Its lush greenery, walking trails, and well-kept picnic areas make it a perfect spot for families, joggers, and nature enthusiasts. The park's calm and welcoming atmosphere provides a refreshing escape from the hustle of daily life. Whether you're looking for a place to relax, enjoy outdoor activities, or connect with the community, Monarch Park is a fantastic choice.”
“Great park and place for a walk with the family and dogs”
“My son organized 2nd birthday party of his daughter here. The venue is spacious with outdoor playground for young kids. A good place for similar parties of 100 odd persons.”
“Such a lovely playground! Smaller area suited to younger children. Lots of shady spots to picnic. A nice little track for riding bikes too!”
“Barbara Jenner's review above has confused two venues. She is criticising the large Torbay Community Hall which is owned by the TCA - Torbay Community Association. Torbay Theatre, an amateur theatre group, owns the small Gate Theatre which is attached to the Hall. I hope this clarifies things?”
“Hidden park. Our kids love coming here and it's very secure.”
