Children's space in Auckland

“An oasis on peace and quietness. Went there on a full on day tip to Auckland and since i had a book i stopped to read for a while. Ended up seeing so many cute couples and people just chilling, reading and relaxing and ended up doing some friends with travellers that were around.”

“I would like to thank the wonderful team at The Learning Corner for teaching, guiding, mentoring and taking care of our daughter from February to April 2025, when she transitioned to Primary School age. My daughter was enthusiastic about going to the Learning Corner and had lots to speak about when she would come home every day - about her friends and particularly all her teachers. She loved all the activites, fun programmes and games at this insitituion. Most importantly she felt loved and felt safe at the Learning Corner. She enjoyed, grew and matured under their able guidance and their efforts together with the wonderful team of teachers and staff. We were blessed to have your support and encouragement, as a new family settling into New Zealand academic system and life. “My husband and I went to Killarney Park after having a cup of coffee at French Rendezvous Cafe next door on 15/12/2023. The park was very quiet and we enjoyed the lovely and romantic walk there. We highly recommend you to visit the park if you happen to go to North Shore or you are one of the Northshorers.”

“Does Park has become a regular for me to take my dog spotty to there is always plenty of dogs here as it is an off-leash dog park surrounded by native bush and a circuit that a lot of people used to get fit the tracks themselves are never muddy and most of the dogs know each other as do the owners this park was gifted to Auckland buy Smith & caughey who owned the department store in Queen Street for over 100 years it was given to the people of Auckland so that it couldn't be used for housing and set aside as one of the greatest green spaces”

“As a new mother I was told not to trust the big franchises as they do not have a quality of care. After having my child attend 2 different big branded daycares I almost believed them. That’s until I started my son here. Millennium Ellerslie has shown the upmost support and care for my child. He has severe eczema and allergies to wheat and egg and they’ve accommodated his needs and wellbeing without excluding him or singling him out. They’re honest go above and beyond. They’re honest, respectful and caring and my husband and I rave about how pleased we are with this centre. The teachers and staff are amazing and my son always feels welcome and happy when we arrive and leave. Thank you all for your patience and professionalism.”

“Good for short walks, lots of variety in trees including pines, oaks, bamboo and native trees. Home to australian magpies, native fantails, blackbirds, swifts, and song thrush. Several full sized sport fields on site for use. Toilets near near entrances. Two sets of playgrounds and one set of exercising stations.”

“What an amazing playground, with the best view! We are over from Australia and came past here, we absolutely love this playground- it had so much to offer for our toddler. Swings, slides, climbing frames, tactile boards, … definitely recommend coming here if you’re nearby!”

“Bug cliffs, ocean walks, watch the tides, if high not much walking room. Steep stairs. Gorgeous area.”

“A relatively small park but it's so beautiful. Especially now that the Cherry blossom trees have bloomed. They have a small playground and basketball court ask well.”

“This is a decent sized reserve area in Northcote, accessible via Queen Street. The children playground has been recently upgraded and has a lot of swings and areas to keep them busy for a couple hours. On street parking is available here. Decent and well maintained toilets is available here. There is always less crowd here, since the location is not that popular except for locals. Half sized basket ball court is also available here. Well recommended overall.”

“Great little reserve to take the kids to. It has a cute little playground, some nice flat fields, a little scooter track and a half basketball court. Plenty of unpaid off street parking is available. Good place to come for a picnic and bring the dog!”

“Centennial Park Bush Walk is in Campbells Bay of Auckland's North Shore, right next to the famous Pupuke golf club. There are a couple of tracks in this bush which are all loops - Walking Bus, Aberdeen, Mamaku, Kohekohe, Bayliss, Avenue, Tui, and Magnolia. Combined, they are 4km track length altogether, and it may take an hour or so to complete them all. It would be handy to have a park map with you so that you will not be on the same track over and over in circles! Good shoes for this walk are essential, as some sections, particularly the Avenue of Remembrance, can be muddy and slippery after wet days. Depending on which direction you walk, there are uphills and downhills so be prepared. Dogs are allowed but must always be on a leash. There's a great lookout point with seating and views out to Campbells Bay and the Hauraki Gulf. Also, there are a couple of picnic benches in this park for you to have a relaxed meal or a drink.”

“Great park!!! So much to do. There were heaps of slides, ropes to climb on, a hamster wheel, spinny things, a wheel chair swing, super clean bathrooms, grills, and so much more! Definitely recommend!”

“Great place with a variety of activities you can enjoy. Playground, skate park and basketball courts provide plenty of fun for kids. Easy walking track (there are stairs on the track) Soccer fields are well looked after and great for exercising and plenty more”

“A really nice, multi-use gymnasium - two large arenas with a viewing platform between. Houses gymnastics and trampoline National and international competitions and training.”

“⸻ This playground features many snake-like slides, and my son had a great time weaving through the various tunnels and pipes. The seaside location offers beautiful views, and there’s plenty of sand to play in. Overall, it’s a fantastic place for kids to explore and enjoy!”

“This the west end of the foreshore heritage walk, a 5km pleasant trail. I started from the middle of the trail, point 13 to the east, then back to the west. It took me 3-4 hours in total. It’s an amazing way to learn Auckland”
