“Great walk track and huge field. Picnic seats in shade for lunch right in front of big playground. Never busy here and loads of parking. Public toilets just up path too.”

“Love this park. My kids love it because my daughter and I get to do our little exercise rounds and also my son gets to play at the playground and his favourite the flying fox that's there too.”

“You can buy many things at an affordable price. There is also a person who sells dates. Wonderful dates and he offers to taste before you buy. I bought from all the varieties he had.”

“Hawkins Theatre in Papakura is now open after refurbishment. Hawkins theatre is a great place to meet with friends and enjoy each others company while catching a movie, school performances, Dane competitions, events and awards, The Glow Show, or a fun time with Operatunity!! You can purchase ice-cream, coffee, biscuits, or wine at the bar. You can take them into the theatre with you also. If you are a senior and purchase your tickets online for the movies, currently they are only $10:00. Hawkins theatre is also a lovely place to take the grandchildren/mokopuna for the movies anytime. There is often a Ladies night, which costs $24 or $26 depending if you purchase in advance or at the door. Thus usually involves a chick flick(however some me do attend) a drink of any kind and an ice-cream. A great deal. Here are a few photos of the April program to pique your interest.”

“My son organized 2nd birthday party of his daughter here. The venue is spacious with outdoor playground for young kids. A good place for similar parties of 100 odd persons.”

“Very nice and large park in the busy Onehunga area. The flora are well maintained and the walkways are nicely curated. The location is easily accessible and ample parking is available on the streets. Public toilets are available and are nicely maintained. A large sized fountain is also installed in here. A decent sized children's play area is there, which attracts a lot of kids. Proximity to the Onehunga pools is an added advantage. Well recommended.”

“The Playground has slides, swings, spinners, and climbing things. There’s a big field for running and cricket. It also has seats for parents, a public toilet, and is a nice spot for a picnic or walk.......”

“Lovely park where we came for a soccer tournament over the weekend. Ample parking by the Hibiscus Coast Football Club. There are Public toilets and multiple playgrounds to suit all ages by the beach. Beautiful views and atmosphere, a great place to spend time with family and friends”

“We are very happy with Lollipops. Our son has been going here for a little over a year now and he just loves it. The staff are friendly and have always tried their utmost to accommodate our requests. The teachers are just amazing too! They are gentle, kind, and patient - to nurture my son's curiosity for science and nature, they have even set up special experiments. The classrooms are well-equipped with a wide variety of toys and activities for the children. The learning themes for each month are communicated clearly, and we get regular updates about what our son and his classmates are getting up to and learning about each week. It is so reassuring to know that he is having lots of fun while learning, and that he is being cared for and fed so well.”

“Love this little spot for a picnic on a hot day! Kell Park has everything you need and more: plenty of shade, public toilets, ample parking and pushchair/wheelchair accessible pathways. Dogs are allowed off leash year round (although mind the free range chickens!) Albany library is just alongside so perfect to grab a book and read in the shade. There is a small playground (suitable for younger children) in the main park - or follow the pathway in either direction for a short bush walk to the big slide and flying fox (flying fox was out of order when we visited Jan 2024). For older children there isn’t a lot to do here - though the flying fox if working would be a good draw. We visit this park fairly frequently and it is never busy.”

“It was a peaceful walk with few people around. I had fun visiting the Chelsea Visitor Centre and learned about the process of making sugar. There was an interactive activity room for young ones to enjoy, as well as a great café and public spaces suitable for all ages.”
