   We were very disappointed with our stay here . Tv didn’t work at all in room and wifi was terrible . Couldn’t even relax and watch a movie at night as wifi just kept buffering and no tv . These things should be checked before guests check in . Something simple as having a tv that goes should be a no brainer . Paying extra for parking now is a rip off $25 a night when you are already paying nearly $200 a night to stay . We got our parking refunded as no tv but had to ask again for it as wasn’t going to be given . Breakfast very disappointing , budget and poor . We used to love staying here and the breakfast was amazing but very underwhelming now . Wouldn’t stay here again .Was a very disappointing weekend away stay when we don’t get to do it much now with the cost of living .

   No complaints. The hotel is perfectly situated near the Octagon. Easy walking distance to shops, cafes and the many interesting landmarks. Room was clean and had everything I needed including hair dryer and air con unit plus a heater. Comfy bed and hot shower with good pressure. Had difficulty using the squirty hand wash bottle and one light bulb had gone but didn’t need to worry about that. Breakfast was a bonus and food always fresh and hot. Staff friendly and obliging. Enjoyed my 4 night stay and would definitely stay again.

   Always great to stay here as a family - reasonably priced rooms always clean, well presented, meet all our needs as well as being close to town. While facilities are a bit dated, it ticks most of the boxes for us. The only negative for us is lack of parking - caused frustration each night we stayed. Staff ALWAYS exceptionally friendly and accomodating, great to have breakfast each day and even Foxy got looked after by the very friendly and obviously sweet cleaning staff member that attended our room today - we’ve stayed four times in the last two years and will always come back :)

   Loved the room me & my sister was in 208 the heater was beautiful the bath was gud just the towel rail was too high to reach the view was beautiful had no microwave or toaster no welcome pack or information on nearest shops or wifi. It's old but very beautiful & close to were my sister lived. Thank you.

   Close to shops and eateries. Rooms comfortable but need toilet/shower/bath revamp. Breakfasts brilliant. Tried to bill us for delivered evening meals & drinks. From where? They don't have a restaurant. We ate out, each night. Don't know whether servicing a room means replacing towels only. Thought this also includes replenishing tea facilities & bed making. No! Not the one.

   I love staying at the Kingsgate, Dunedin. Ok it’s not 5* but the rooms are clean. Beds comfortable. Workspace for paperwork. The staff are very friendly. It’s central and close to the Octagon. Has parking and a restaurant, just a pity they only do breakfast at the moment but there are plenty of eateries close by. Always my first choice when working in or around Dunedin

   Our experience at Kingsgate was fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly, both at the reception and during breakfast. The room exceeded our expectations, as it was larger than we anticipated and even had a living room area and a balcony. Although the breakfast was relatively simple, it was still satisfying, and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. We highly recommend staying here!

   Great room very spacious. Fantastic staff and very clean premises. Only thing I was abit disappointed in was the restaurant wasn't open for dinner. Handy to town also. I would definitely stay at Kingsgate again.
