Unfortunately seriously questioning choice of supermarket. Yes it’s the week after Xmas but it’s not as if that was a surprise event. 1030 this morning, there was hardly any salad vegetables, bananas, onions. Bakery was half full, no pre prepared meals by the cheese, and the shelves throughout were haphazard or empty or all over the place. Bought chicken only to discover it was use by today plus other prepacked was already ‘blowing up’ so wouldn’t have trusted that to eat.pointed this out to a staff member who didn’t seem to know anything about the meat section. Constant calls over loudspeaker for people to open a till. Just had an air of unkempt and disorganisation . Usually so good there and a great place to shop but not today. Anyone turning up this arvo wouldn’t have had a lot of choices .

I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but today really crossed the line. I had a very unpleasant experience with one of the staff members , a lady with short grey hair. This is the second time she has been disrespectful ; the first time was towards me, and now, on a different occasion, towards my wife. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the staff member’s name because of how inappropriate and uncomfortable the situation was. I believe incidents like this shouldn’t be overlooked. Customers deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, and I hope management takes this matter seriously.

I try to support local, I have been patient with the local branch, via C19, the rat issue & a continuous issue of empty shelves. We usually shop on Thursday & I continuously get frustrated by empty shelves. Specials out of stock, in these tough times it makes a big difference. Our grocery bill is usually $350-$400/ week, but enough is enough seriously considering taking my business elsewhere. FYI…I have a background in the industry & know profit margins are tough but I believe this business would be one of poorest run grocery stores in the country!!

I found a interesting price -scam at the supermarket today. You can buy a whole cauliflower for $5.99. And you buy a half a cauliflower for $.6.99. Shouldn't the half cauliflower be $3.00? Very strange. Just reminding people to check the price and the size. And as you can see, supermarkets have many tricks to rip us off these days, so take you time read the size and price.

I made a complaint about staff member making a homophobic slur towards me a couple of months ago, i was told this would be dealt with. Today i was there and a staff member still speaking to me in a insulting way. I was abused as a child so i get people think that im gay. I understand that but to speak to me like im stupid and waving a hand around speaking like ohhhh my reallllly oooohh. Its immature and just taking the piss. I wont be shopping here again

The store is having alterations done at the front of the shop. The carparking area has been reduced to around half the usual area and the front entrance of the store has construction being done. I recommend avoiding if it is busy or wet as there is limited parking. The rest of the store is fine, although could do with more checkouts open.

Everything I'd expect from the standardized Countdown experience. Generally very good and no complaints. It's very hard to find a member of staff here, except at checkout. Sometimes annoying and maybe due to the seemingly larger floor space. Always really good though.

Last night, I was shopping in Dunedin South Countdown when the acting Duty Manager, Chris, mistook me for someone who has recently been trespassed. He was without doubt in his mind, I was this woman. Throughout my shop he followed me, my five year old daughter and mother around the store, proceeded to stand less than 3 metres away from the check out - where these women I’m asking for were - and made everybody feel extremely uncomfortable as he made a power play to stand there and blatantly stare. He then came over and took my receipt before I was offered which is when my mother then realised he had an agenda so I made a comment and he continued to turn around and tell me directly to my face, and as loud as he could to further embarrass me, “you know, you’ve been trespassed. Last week, I gave it to you”. Then when I asked what he was talking about he walked away dismissing me. I then spoke up to get his attention (as I assume he was dialling the police in his ear piece) and demanded he showed me the notice so I can compare to my ID. At this point he did and I, as I’ve said all along, denied it was me. Not ONCE, did he offer an apology, but instead, he didn’t want to hear how he’d upset me and told me to leave the store or he’d call the police because he was wrong. It wasn’t until after police were involved he offered a weak, an insincere apology. Mean while everyone else in the supermarket, customers and staff had been watching. I have taken this a lot higher as the entire situation was handled appalling and as I imagine not according to his training or protocol.
