Lovely views once up top! Quite a steep walk up if you follow the pipe line. Not much shade so watch out for the sun. Not the most naturally interesting walk. Can get a bite to eat and fill up your water at the gondola station. I also got a free ride down!

Nice trekking route with amazing view and sheeps. The pathway is rocky and quite steep.

Tough walk for your average person but the mountain views are definitely worth it. Can see Lyttleton or Christchurch from a high vantage point. Highly recommend hiking shoes.

I personally lover this treat! If you're looking for a moderate hike with historical significance and panoramic views, this is definitely one to consider. The trail itself is well-maintained, though it does involve a steady incline. Expect a mix of paved sections and gravel paths and maybe a bit of grasslands, so good shoes are recommended. You'll get sweeping vistas of Lyttelton Harbour, the city, and the surrounding hills. It's a fantastic spot for photos, so bring your camera. Note: Parking can be a bit tricky, especially on weekends, so arriving early is advisable. Cheers, BinkyT

First time visit. Nice. Worth taking the gondola up. The view is panoramic and beautiful. My family enjoyed the hike very much.

This hill walk offers a fantastic view of the eastern part of Christchurch when approached from the gondola parking area. It's quite steep, but the breathtaking scenery makes it worthwhile. The abundance of sunlight during the walk makes it perfect for cooler weather. If you have walking sticks or poles, they would come in handy for the steep downhill return. The only downside is that the gondola isn't free for way down like that in the adventure park.

The "short cut" will definitely take your breath away if you're not fit.

Enjoyed the gondola and watching the paragliders. Information guide at the tram stop in the centre of Christchurch, next to the renovations of the cathedral, very helpful and informative

Itβs one of my best walks in the country. Good for someone who likes moderate challenges while enjoying beautiful views. I was lucky enough watching a farm owner manages a herd of sheep with the help of dogs. What a team work!
